After a fateful meeting with with "Darth Vader" Skywalker, Elite Swordsman

"Luke" Skywalker, Swordsman

Head
Neck
Back
Spine
Chest
Left arm
Left hand
Right arm
Right hand
Waist
Left leg
Left foot
Right leg
Right foot

"Luke" Skywalker has learned of his father's whereabouts
"Luke" Skywalker has learned of his father's corruptness
"Luke" Skywalker has gone melancholy
"Luke" Skywalker has fallen down a chasm
"The Leader of Rogue" team has fallen

Heh, add to it; in order to destroy the Death Star, a well placed cat must be flung into the core.

DF General Discussion / Re: How do you pronounce 'Urist'?

Ur-Ist, Er-Ist

Let's call the whole thing off.

I tend to pronounce as it reads.

looks good, have you thought about an arsenal sub-deck? The ballista would be only really usable for airship to airship combat, how about going down one more level giving a firmer support to the ballista and have 6 catapults down there? also what about the Siege ammo where is that stored?
Well, you have to consider that this ship is modular. You can add stuff to it, and modify it to your liking.

It's base form has two (2) anchor ballistae that can double as temporary defense, but considering they're anchors that are launched, they can be used for boarding parties. Same applies to ammo. If need be, there will be modification for a storage unit for the ammo, or use the excess space leftover. Simple, yet effective.

BTW, I have it designed as such so anyone can modify it to their liking and show off their changes/mods of it. But only when I finish it will the full behemoth be released. So, be patient.

Furthermore, the ship is being made right now so that it will be a fulfilled project for the Dwarven Empire, it'll then be ferried to the capitol a reviewed/used by the king. But with things developing as they are, things may go fairly differently. Stay tuned to find out more.

and place that magma cube on a region tile with high elevation to make sure the lava goes a long way...
Exactly. Plus, the crow's nest base would make for excellent observation of everything fizzling out of existence way, way, way, WAY down below (a minimum of 50z from the ground or tallest peak).

I'd like to see some visualizer screens of the before/after of the location, as well as progressive frames of the melting cube of magma into "The Blob" from an unfortunate adventurer's perspective. If any GCSs get cooked by it though, be sure to bring some butter as well.

I'd like a history report if possible. BTW, I figure that a 6x6 or 10x10 (embark area) magma cube would be far more than adequate to give an entire country a nice thick candy shell.

Well, referencing to my megaproject, I kinda envision my dwarves; especially my lead-foreman "Cid" Kalrethdakost to look very closely to this. Especially when in the air; although, right now, he's/they're just wearing normal garb.

A truly epic engineer/foreman/miner to pass by. Why else do you think he was hired for the project? Despite all the stress and ambushes and etc. interfering with the project, this guy is freaking hardcore. I think by take off, he should have something close to this when he takes the captain's seat; at least on it's maiden voyage to the capitol. But you know? After all the crap he and his people have suffered making the damn thing, I think he might snap and hijack it claiming it his own. After all, they will have the only dry-dock for the time being for all services for the ship. Plenty good reason to secede.

Then again, upon opening up the gateway to Hell, you'll get millions of cats running out, that might remedy the remedy, and either be the most underwhelming sight to behold, the funniest sight to behold, or the most terrifying sight to behold, or all of the above.

In the TRUE Dwarven hell, the millions of cats would then set off a THERMONUCLEAR CATSPLOSION!!!

And the cat chunks spread all over the place by the thermonuclear catsplosion would grow into cats, which would, themselves, explode.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice

That's what that reminds me of, but more accurately this does: Scratchtasia

You know what could be an interesting variation of this?

Flood your entire embark location with magma several (dozen) Zs deep with a small area (somewhat livable to wait out the whole time with survivors), and when you've reached a desired depth of magma in your embark region, visit in Adventure mode and run like hell.

The great molten jello cube of burning hot death. There's always room for some more.

MegaProject: Magma-Tsunami Fuck the World UNLEADED!!! (You though Boatmurdered's was madness...)
AKA
Death by Jell-O / M&M World (a combination; Jell-O blob melts the world, and hardens into a thick candy shell with a big fortress in the shape of a giant "m" in the center.)

EDIT: Fix'd

Construct a massive throne to Dwarvenkind, a tribute to being the last survivors of the world as Dwarves.

You can mod DF, but only up to a point, people.
Says you....

I think being able to Catapult Live creatures or even dead ones WOULD be a nice feature...god knows it's been used in reality as a way to spread disease..and I cant help but think ONE poor sap MUST of got brained by a flying dead man..
In your dreams :D. Most stuff in DF is hardcoded.
Well... you can always bridgeapult.
Well, yes, but Bridgeapult only works with creatures. Items will be destroyed or they stay on the ground, I'm not entirely sure.
Bridgeapulting creatures (or rather: the landing) only hurts the creature that got bridgeapulted and only if it lands on the ground. If it lands on another creature, both of them remain unharmed.
Edit: Someone should try bridgeapulting your champion on top of a goblin siege.
Gobbo1: It's a bird!
Gobbo2: It's a plane!
Gobbo3: No, it's a dwarven champi... *death* *flying bodyparts* *gore*
Urist McChampion: That's all, folks!
I have actually been able to bridgeapult some items. In effort to execute some invaders I bridgeapulted some cages full of them. Unfortunately, they were unharmed after a 10z fall. Grr...

But items were unharmed.

I suppose the true definition of Hell would be the absolutely severe FPS drop once the Demon-Realm is opened and revealed.

Then again, when the new engine for DF is up, that should resolve the FPS issue. Then again, upon opening up the gateway to Hell, you'll get millions of cats running out, that might remedy the remedy, and either be the most underwhelming sight to behold, the funniest sight to behold, or the most terrifying sight to behold, or all of the above.

Someone MUST illustrate this.

Nevermind, I already found an example of what happens when you OPEN THE GATES OF HELL!!!!!

Does a world of noseless elves make you feel better?
No, because now they sound annoying when they speak.

This makes me think. Imagine if all your kills, and losses are NOW in hell, and you have to deal with them, along with the demon hordes.

._.

ADDED NOTE:
Oh, and those baby-shields you used... Yeah, Thems growns up now.

Holy crap! Amazing work with the face study.

I'm not the best at rendering faces, even something as simple as anime/manga style. I'm more into the mechanical aspect of things. In other words, I'm pretty good at rendering machines or bastardizations of nature. I'm impressed with the quality however. I wish I had that level of talent in that field.

You know, if I have the time, I'll try to render what I truly envision my project to look like. I mean, as far as my talent can go, it might look pretty cool. Plus, I need to add more life to my machine designs for a sense of scale and whatnot. Too many of them look like ghost ships and etc..

BTW, it's about time I draw something again anyhow. And with more adequate detail too. Enough quick scribbling of ideas.
