What's happening with Homestuck? I gave up on it after reading Homestuck^2.

I'll always be a proponent of Thunderbolt Fantasy.

In Manga news: I'm fully caught up on the Chainsaw Man manga. I'm usually pretty reluctant to read past the anime unless I really like something, and CSM doesn't disappoint. There's actually a part 2 to Chainsaw Man that apparently started recently, which really surprised me, as Part 1 was basically a complete, if very insane, story; but then it just keeps going. I guess I'm stuck on this Chainsaw Train now.

Also, Baki Dou, the Sumo Arc of Baki the Grappler, has finally concluded after like 5 years. It has left many fans, myself included, completely bewildered, in that so much time has been spent on this arc, and so much effort doled out to hype up the new characters that were introduced in this arc, only for it to end kinda anticlimactically. Like "Really? That was it?" and so I'm thinking that the author Keisuke Itagaki just wants to hurry to the next arc, or focus on his multiple concurrent side stories he has going, or maybe just start wrapping up all his stories cause Jesus the man is like 66 years old, the Shonen Slavedrivers can only whip him for so long.

Before I put it down for good, I just wanted to mention Tunic again and how much fun it has been. The final challenges are next level awesome. The final puzzles to solve really make you feel like you solved the mystery of the game world and brought peace to the fantasy land. I really can't spoil anything, but it really is up there with some of the best games I've ever played. It really was worth it to get so obsessed with it and lose sleep and get sick.

Pretentious Artsy game idea: An Adventure game in the vein of Monkey Island, but you have several disembodied voices narrating over the gameplay MST3K style. At certain story beats, there's an intermission to the "movie" and the perspective changes to you, one of the participants of the MST3K crew that are actually a dysfunctional group of friends that are suffering from some traumatic drama and are being aggravating nuisances in the movie theater to try to ineffectively cope with what they're dealing with. You have to use this segment to try to speak with your friends during this intermission and try to resolve the latent emotional tension before it boils over into a real shitstorm that threatens to destroy your relationships forever. Then the "Haha funny movie" comes back on and you're perspective-switched back to the protagonist of the movie; and this cycle continues throughout the story of the game until both the stories of the movie and the stories of the friends reach their climax.

I finally decided to pick up Tunic, and yeah, I just love me a game that plops you in a world and tells you to figure it out. It's so cute and satisfying to play. Chock full of secrets in every corner, I never feel cheated when the obvious secret spot ACTUALLY contains a secret, as opposed to just being a random corner with nothing in it. And I just love how "read the game guide" is the intended progression. It's the perfect marriage of simplistic design with a wealth of details.

Though I am embarrassed at how long it took me to find the shield. I beat the first 2 bosses without it; just Dark Soulsing my way through the intended progression.

After becoming unemployed again, I'm right back into my depressed, self-destructive thought spirals again. I just really wasn't made to be a real living thing with its own prerogatives in life.

I finished Season 2 of To Your Eternity, and I just really loved it. It's just one of those rare anime that just has a good story, and that's it. That's all it needs.

But in addition, it has a great OP.

Can't wait for Season 3.

You know what McTraveller, I apologize, that wasn't even related to the conversation. I just woke up and chose cynicism today.

I'm not so much worried about the money in my bank, so much as the value of the money deciding to become worthless one day. It's not implausible for something to cause runaway inflation, or for the oil companies that back the usd to suddenly collapse due to some political snafu; and then the only thing preventing American society from immediately degenerating into bloody anarchy is the social contract... and we already know how much that's worth.

In a hypothetical world where natural selection has evolved humans to be almost totally immobile, car-driving chonkers, the human body becomes an absolute unit that can survive on-road collisions. How do I know this? I just witnessed this sculpture and scientific explanation of what I'm personally dubbing Homo Automobilicus; aka, Graham:

Bullshit. He doesn't even have proper airbags installed, commonly referred to as breasts!

He does have like a second ribcage, outfitted with fluid filled sacs that are meant to mimic air bags XD
