The "make hardened bone mass" reaction still doesn't show up in my smelter... and I know I didn't excise it from the raws by accident when I was getting rid of inobtainite. I have loads of bones around, too.

My dorfs need bone thrones.

I'm having this problem too after the latest goblin ambush. There's access to the cave river, there's a well still listed as Active, I don't see any blood in the river, so why won't my dorfs use it?

I just found that my fort has adamantine- I didn't think there was any on this map, but looking back at a revealed version (I really, really needed to find the cave river since it's a desert region) I found the pits.

This'll be my first time breaching adamantine. :D

One of my dorfs has three pet fire snakes and nothing's caught on fire or spontaneously disappeared that I've noticed. I don't play with temp off.

Yep, I'd accidentally turned off wood hauling. Go figure.

Eidalac- I don't have trouble getting stone hauled, but I keep having to turn off my legendary miner/mayor's jobs so he'll go to the trade depot/conduct meetings.

My wood stockpile has sat empty for at least a dwarven year while they leave all the wood in the trade depot (my Obsidian Fort of Awesomeness is on a desert map with no trees of its own.) All my dorfs have wood hauling turned on. What gives?

They're not hauling items out of any of the workshops either unless they're taking them to a shop or the trade depot, even when there's open space in an appropriate stockpile.

(I kind of wonder if this is a bug related to Dwarf Manager, even though all I used that for was to make all my peasants siege operators at once.)

I'm actually not sure if this is a bug or if I'm just doing something wrong, but I built a windmill on top of a stack of three screw pumps. Everything's set up so it should transfer power down... but when I select the windmill it says: "Inactive. Total power produced: 20 Total power needed: 30"

A windmill shouldn't need power, should it? Trying to connect it to another windmill using an axle didn't work, either: the axle was "inactive."


Okay, I figured it out. It was referring to the power required by the screw pump stack... I should have realized.

And then the pumps collapsed because the obsidian mechanisms melted.

The bit about river stones had me thinking about placers. We already have this to an extent with the platinum deposits on beaches, but it could be expanded- add in other commonly found substances (gem gravels?), maybe put them along rivers too (although your dorfs would have to contend with the carp to get to it!)...
