   A problem with equipment trade offs is that you can do a lot of stuff with equipment. The mouth isn't the best example so lets look at hands. Low encumbrance armor to do ranged, rubber to block shocking, or stacking of armor in general. Depending on the slot depends on what is worth it. With the mouth I wouldn't even consider a mutation that would stop me from wearing some protection against smoke or what have you until I got for instance the cbm that does it for me.

   Also there is a thing we are not including in our calculations right now. Just throw your mind back to all of the characters you have played as who died within their first few fights. I know I have sacrificed many a character myself. Now of all characters, not just your own, what is the ratio of people who end up mastering combat when they have to do it every day for weeks and weeks (assuming the time dilation and all) and it looks less absurd. It isn't that every survivor after the apocalypse is able to master any skill they come across. It is that of say the one in a thousand that survive of those one in maybe a hundred that have the ability to master the world.

   Does leveling skills scale in cost at all right now? If they don't then try making it go up ala Fibonacci sequence. It could would help with keeping skills somewhat in check. The first few levels are still easy but the difficulty goes up in a nice progression.

   I don't currently use skill rust because I am against the current implementation of it. It feels wrong to just lose hard work because I don't religiously bandage myself and ironically capping by int feels like a bandage with it to. I think there is a system that could work but it would need testing and too many people don't want to even touch it to get it done in any good speed.

   Whenever I pop on there seems to be one or two servers with decent populations so I just play what is being played. I will eventually get onto it but I am very much still learning and I really need to try a strategy other then frenzy.

   The skills feel a lot more balanced which is nice. There is also two types of matches now. The first type is quick matches which is like how the game originally was where you level up then put points into skills as the match goes on and at the start of the match everyone starts at level 10. The second type is permanent matches which use a level which goes up slowly as you play and it stays between games. If you played back when it basically switched to just that for a while then any levels you got then probably are still on your character.
   Another thing is that the netcode is improved. The only time I have experienced any kind of lag related annoyance was when I was uploading a video at the same time and the ping was definitely above 300. Even with servers in England and other such far off places (I live in America) have good ping for me, sub 100 most of the time, that even when they are on those servers I can have a good time.
   Finally there is a new gamemode. Its a zombie thing where it is basically a PvE sort of thing. Each map has bombs at various locations and the way you set them off is by filling them one by one with a thousand zombie souls each. In a quick match the way you get experience is by returning the souls to the bomb. Also the zombies comes in waves and start when people have touched the next bomb. Once you complete the first way when the wave is called everyone gets rooted for a short amount of time and the only way to survive that is if you are with the others and you all work together, though I assume if you pick a really good hiding spot you might be able to survive.

   So a few of us have put the Bay12 clan tag in. First off if you don't have a clan and you come from here, please do use it. But besides a general call to have people use it more, there is a clan subforum. I have been half considering starting a Bay12 clan thread there, if only to take down a list of names of those of us who are there. So yeah, please use the clan tag and if you do post here and if we get a few people I will throw up a clan thread and link it.

   So I have another video up now. Here it is. I have a backlog to about the seventh (as marked) video and after that I will try to limit it to the matches I think where really interesting.

   Right after you log in it should be on the top of the stuff in the middle of the screen. If your already logged in and went to another screen its The main menu tab under account. About 30 seconds into the video I link just above your post you can also see it.

   Okay I have a more proper video up now. The start shows how to setup a queue for quick matches and then two games. The first game is relatively quick as I joined partway through and the second is proper length. I don't do quite as well in this video but later ones will have me getting better. Anyway here is the video

   While I will note I play as akhier I basically point this out in my videos a couple times so we should probably spread the referrals out among those who play from here. Also of note, we are the Bay12 clan as it states in the OP of this thread so if you want to denote you come from here and haven't joined another clan or something put that as your clan.

   Can confirm, was fun and there was a lot of Bay12ers randomly on. I will have a video up soon enough after some editing. Not exactly my best as I am definitely not good enough to talk and play. Also the zombie mode is really fun to play even with just a few players so even if there are only a couple people on its interesting to hop on and give it a go.

   As of Snapshot 14w18a slime blocks when pushed by pistons now pull other blocks with them. This in momentous as not only does this mean that self motile machines are possible but a number of other really awesome things like better doors and machines that use less pistons. Here I have a shortish video where I made a machine that moves and is powered by a sheep. For a good indepth view of what this does check Docm's video about it here.
