Well.. When it looks like intention is to deceive... I have to call it as I see it.

Maybe it really was all accidental... but everything basically looks like it was taken from a page of how to get people to download malware instead of their intended program.... *not saying it is Malware, just that the same types of trickery they use to get people to download their crap instead of legitimate applications was used for that*

IE: an increment in version from the official release, Using the same name plus something else, not specifying it was not an official release.. ect..

I would just like to mention this is the last official release of DT currently.

The author says he is working on another one and will release it when the next version of DF arrives, however it is currently not done.

The 0.0.5 thats floating around with DF hack is not official.

Edit: Re-worded a little, as accusation was a little strong for what may be an honest mistake.

Many people are obviously in the mistaken belief that:

1. You are the author of DT

2. This is an official DT release.

You may wish to put some nice red text at the beginning clarifying your post is not official.

1) It would be extracted from plants like, say, canola. Say, Just enough to cover a tile from 10 canola bunches, 20 bunches for 1/7, 40 for 2/7, 60 for 3/7 and so on up until 140 bunches of canola to produce a tile full of Canola oil. (Obviously, this is waaay less efficient than oil.)


I would like to point out there is no such thing as a canola plant...

Canola stands for CANada Oil Less Acid.

I believe the plant you are looking for is rapeseed.

Dwarf Companion link is on the wiki.
And it works perfectly.

Also please add my Dwemer Fortress [The Elder Scrolls] mod to the list. I didn't know there's another one TES mod though, I am going to check if it has any graphics and dwemer content :).

I would have to debate the "works perfectly" tag.  It works acceptably, but causes some oddball things in certain instances. It also has problems with pulling thoughts, and in certain instances has been known to lock up on me. There was also an instance where it corrupted DF for me.

I am not saying it's bad... Considering what it  messes around with it does really good... Just I would be cautious when using it. Follow directions carefully, make backups, expect oddities.  Nothing wrong with that though... Just not "perfect"  and not near as polished and user friendly as say Dwarf TheRapist or Dwarf Manager.

I do not know... If I had a link I would know though... and it would probably be added.


* Edit, now that I looked it up, I know what it is... It has real usabilty issues, but I use it on occassion.  LOL cant get anything but the precompiled one to work either but that probably is not the authors fault *everything updates around it constantly*

I will add it to the pile though.

Yeah, but I didn't believe them... I kinda believe myself...

Course toad only has 10 days left now if that was the case and there are a lot of un-finished items to knock down in that time so looks like I am probably over optimistic, but it still could happen.

I can, I am betting we are only about 12 days away from a buggy release and only maybe a month away from one that actually works pretty good.

There is no reason for the help file to not include the two most helpful things a new player could have.

I think this should really only be applied to traders.. I know that the fort wealth computations are a lil on the flaky side.. however its the traders where the problems become most glaring.

I think a better formula would be for traders and have it be slightly more complicated.

I am thinking:

Price = Default / ( 1 + (Items Sold - Demand) * Price Factor)

(Note: if items sold is less than demand, the price will actually increase by design)

This would allow a lot more variability in the economy and allow for raw file tweaking of it.

For example. if you wanted the price of Microline Mugs to fall faster and rise sharper you could increase the "Price Factor" variable in a raw.

If you wanted to have a high demand item like dwarven wine have a higher default price unless a lot was sold, you could set the "Demand" in the raws to a higher value.

I think this would add some needed flexibility and would prevent low value but numerous items from collapsing too fast and high value low demand items from having only trivial price reductions if done right.

* demands would likely be procedurally generated in the future by each civilization, based on their production capacities, the wares price, "desperation levels", and stockpile levels.

Umm don't have a fancy haiku... But I remember the thing to memorize the color bands on resistors...
