I think the last thing we need is a dwarf version of Bob Saget, cause then we'd end up with engravings of dwarves being smacked in the nuts by something. Anyway, doesn't the wiki say something about turning off immigrants?

ah, hope thats the case, and the elves are probably just pissed because half the map is ash (Man that looked awesome, sucked that I lost a hunter and two hunting dogs, but it was awesome watching the fire sweep across the map.), anyway, hopefully it comes soon, just turned autumn now, still no human caravan but I may have to check the maps on that once, cause for all I know they may not even exist anymoreand lets pray for bauxite so I can deliver fiery death :D, anyway, thanks for the help, hopefully it all works its self out. As for the wagon thing, its not that wagons aren't showing up, its no-one is showing up, besides immigrants which I can barely support.

he left about a year ago, though I'm worried that they may not be coming because, for whatever reason he left long after the caravan.

the depot is accessible, but I built a second one where the first was originaly (I had moved it further down the main hall before making my militia because it was so close to the entrance and Kobolds kept snagging stuff whenever the elves showed up, since theydon't bring guards usually, stupid elves), so hopefully that'll help (I'll have three to six dwarves stationed there now so it shouldn't be much of a problem now) but I dunno why merchants haven't show up at all, as for the food, seeds were already marked off but I set the surface seeds as cookable and slated the cats without owners to be slaughtered (as much of a cat person as I am, desperate times...) since the dwarves were starting to hunt vermin, personally I hope I don't have to abandon this place, since I've already pumped out three artifacts and its a lovely location in my opinion... Also, the length of my fisherdwarf's stupidity has just been revealed... He had been fishing out the well, and fell in...

DF Gameplay Questions / Caravans stoped coming

Alright, I hope this is the right place to put this, and I'm sure you've gotten this question alot, but, I'm having a problem. I started up on a map with a river cutting through my mountain, which appears to be a dead volcano (has a magma pipe that reaches the surface, within the mountain, and north of it underground is a magma pool), resting on an open savanah, and everything was going fine, until the first elven caravan arrived, which coincidently occured right as an imp that spawned outside the magma pool (and in the wilderness) set my hunter on fire, and obviously half of the map (I managed to prevent injury by forbiding my dwarves from going outside and retracting the bridge (which sits over a 3x4 pit which I plan to use as a death trap if I get the needed materials (bauxite mainly), I still get immigrants in a steady flow, and I had begun drafting peasants into a militia (currently nine, three axedwarves, three swordsdwarves (bearing obsidian), and three marksdwarves. I had received no word from the humans come summer, and by the end of autumn there was no further sign of the dwarf caravan. Spring came, no elves, no immigrants, and I still pray for a caravan bearing Bauxite so I may harness the mountain's firey blood... Anyway, yeah I seem to be cut off from the outside world as far as trade, and its starting to make me a tad twitchy, especially since the animals haven't come back from the fire yet and my farms haven't been producing like they should, and my fisher dwarves have been being less than intelligent when it comes to doing their jobs, so I'm running low on food, drink isn't a problem because I still have 200 units left, and I have several wells set up around the fortress, but, yeah...
