what is diorite i know its a rock but what does it do i looked it up on the wiki its just a plank page. So like is it a flux material can it make iron? oh and plus how do i make iron bars just melt hemitat?

Thanks just sorta starting making an army so was confused why my guys where classed as wrestlers. also is it the same with hunters do i assign them a weapon just like any one else?

Yea yea i know its nooby but I dont get the weapon system how do i equip weapons to my dwarfs or how do i know if the weapon is even equipped? I know i have to press "m" but I can just assign all my dwarfs battle axes that I know i dont have. So if i assign one of my weapons in m will they come get it once it's made?

So I installed a chalk well for my dwarfs to drink out of so they dont get attacked by deer. It was all going well until the lake i was draining for water went dry so i decided to make a channel from the river to my well so just to be safe i installed a flood gate to stop any water from entering my for But it went over the well and into my fort. So i locked down my fort with flood gates and half my fort (with a few peasents in there) is filling up with water so i was wondering how can i stop this large amount of water going into my fort so one day i can recover all my stone (will it still be there after the flood?)

edit: just read over this and i sayed fort a lot!  ;D

So my whole fort is female (i did something to my raw don't know what) and for some odd reason one of my guards has given birth to a baby?? lesbian sex :-* or are they having baby's Va asexual reproduction  :o?

So my fortress is started making weapons! Or so i thought I found the problem was there was no charcoal well ok then so i made a new wood burner guy. So now i had some charcoal going again so my problem is that I cant make any iron weapons or cages because i can't make any iron bars i have iron but i cant bring up the option to make iron bars at my smelter? is there some argues process that i have to do to obtain iron bars?

First line of business thanks for the picture that helps even thou i have the maygreen. I think cave adaption may be the problem the well is inside and the miners rarely ever get out. Some of you are getting confused about what im asking i know how to build a well just my miners are sick so nothing happening. MMMMMMMMMk so how do i cure cave adaption and will it od any thing to my dwarfs? ill be back later to check your posts

Well im currently trying to make a well but none of my miners are working they are flashing green does this mean there sick and if so how do i know. Can dwarfs get sick just by mining and can it spread to other dwarfs? I looked in the wiki for this and nothing came up i typed in sick just so you know so ya an answer would be appreciated because i have to kinda wait and my well has to be delayed.

Thanks a lot for this videos gonna watch them and see if they cover all the things im confused about (pipes and smelting). So as you may have guessed my question is to do with channels. Can I use them as a water source for my dwarfs to drink from? if not how do i move water up/down Z levels so i can make a well thanks for your help and sorry if this is to nooby of a question

Deathbane i don"t think you were rude at all once i figured out my grammar was noobish and some of the stuff i was doing was very annoying. I find it annoying when people do things like i did. So there for i shouldnt do it, i just didnt realize what i was doing. I was noob up the forums with stupid questions and being lazy so as a future heads up if you find something that i do that annoys you please tell me i wont be offended as long as its not something like "I HATE YOUR NAME!!!!! SNARL" ya no mkk well i pronounce this thread
