DF Gameplay Questions / Key value problems...

Ok, so I've got a Mac with no number pad, and the only plus and minus signs I have aren't recognized by the game. Is there a way around this?

Darn. For a minute there I was hopeful (hive-mind can be useful!), but I can deal with this form too. As for the randomness level, I vote yes. I'd revel in the utter chaos even if it wasn't good for me.

Roll: I chaotically graft myself to the top of the house-ent.

Also, how often do my fruits of chaos grow? I vote once every three to five rounds.

Well, so much for my tunneling away. Thanks, penguin, for condemning me to death...unless someone else can help me find a way around this. I think I've changed my own roll enough already.

Oh. Crud. Well, in that case, can I change my roll? I want all the pieces of myself to gain seperate consciousnesses (so they're all their own little mini-Will, although for the sake of fair play I'll obviously only be able to control one), all of which (yes, myself included) tunnel out through uncertainty to different places not so far away, but at a safe distance. Or a totally random location. Take your pick.

Ok, shout me down if this is a little too much, but here's my action:

I roll to sink faster and faster to the very edge of death and despair, then chaotically use the momentum of my spiritual fall to fling myself back together to full bodily and mental health. As for escaping the grenades...well, I can only hope Neo succeeds in saving our asses, because otherwise I'm still just as screwed as I was before.

Oh, and don't worry Correleon. Although being blown to pieces is annoying no matter what you are, explosions are chaotic. And I am a chaos spirit. I revel in it. However, this does not give the rest of you an excuse to regularly whale on me. Once was enough...for a while.

Oh, and as for my free action, I look down at my sludge-monster self in utter horror and disgust, then reflect on the fact that, as a chaos spirit, my true form might not be much better anyway.

Ok, I'm counting on Correleon's roll to succeed, but just in case...oh. Crud. If I try to help him, being a chaos spirit myself, bad things could happen. Very bad things indeed. So instead, I roll to systematically release some of my chaotic energy in such a way that I am ascended to a higher form of life. Also, it seems I am relying on everyone's charity to heal me from now on...please be nice. Chucking anything to anything potions at me might work too, since I am a spirit of chaos.
