DF Suggestions / Better Interface.

Ok, so i the interface is definitely not so swell....If a player can stand the gfx he might be turned away by the interface. i was the first three times i tried df. No matter how hardcore ascii or df stock graphics you are, you have to admit you get annoyed by the interface once in a while, or ALOT in my case.
And recently i had the idea: Interface design contest. This would be completely useless without the consent of toady ofcourse. I guess he could take some time off from making teh game and work on implementing the winners interface after the next release. or the relevent source could be given to people willing (and know how) to code it, like the 40d#s.
I would like to see how this flies with the great one. if he is planning on doing it himself im sure it would be superb. but a concept contest could be fun and productive.
