Wow is like the south park of gaming. They pack as many references into it as possible so the kids which play it feel special/important when they recognize something.

"HA, I KNOW THIS STUFF".
Bit of a cynical take. Perhaps the devs just enjoy the things they reference?
or maybe they just like making references which most people won't get.

Eh.  You haven't played Google Sepuku enough.  Or been on a furry porn site.
nah, the furry porn site doesn't scare me... although the possibilities of google sepuku are too strange for me to experiment with for now. I've been around the internet, I doubt that I'm immune to the images on it, but I've learned to simply ignore what I don't want to see.
I don't want to test it, because the internet is large enough for immunity to anything on it is impossible. therefore I politely decline that.

The origenal DF was build in C (If I am correct, and these days its C++ right?) and therefor I admire him to no end of being able to build what is without question an OOP project without the paradime, truely a coding king! The script must have had more go to's then asking for directions in New York!
You probably should not hiss on C if you have no real experience with it. It can handle OOP just fine (better than Perl, for one), and I doubt Toady used even single goto statement. In hands of unexperienced (or, worse, too self-confident) programmer C++ is far worse than C.
and yet C is still not oop, in fact, neither is C++, they are both multiparadigm, meaning you can program pretty much how you want in both. but C++ is class based for much of it, therefore it is still more OOP than C.

Yeah, someone posted this when they found it in the beta. Still cool though.

Also, I came across some NPCs trying to get a statue out of a lake in stormwind; talked to the human foreman and he was complaining about how a dwarf wanted to solve the problem with exposions.
If I remember right, the dwarves in particular are extremely skilled at using explosives in Warcraft III. it was either dwarves or goblins.
I think it's both.
then that's where the confusion came from. now only if Blizzard had dwarves profaning magma and its many uses.

I'd like to think I'm a general engineer... however I'm not skilled with machines, just computers... close enough.
I may be some kind of hauler or novice weaponsmith...

fortunately, north korea seems to be pretty intent on surviving, so for now, this won't boil over to a nuclear war. I'm just happy this all takes place far away from me in my home in the US. and besides, North Korea killed so few people that they may have just been testing the water. I'm not too concerned for now though, this gets any worse, I'll become concerned.
