That said, I should probably ask Jim before volunteering his night action.

Stealing Secretdorf's vote is basically what I was planning to do anyway.

This is reasonable, but if it is hector13/Imp, where did Maximum Spin go to push this angle?

Do hector13 and Imp fight like they did on D4 if they're teamed together somehow? I guess an SK team is the only thing that would make sense given the SK inspection from TCk.

I guess this doesn't require Imp and hector13 to be teamed; Imp could just be making shit up and inadvertently said the wrong result for hector13, which is more plausible.

I return to daily toiling today so I probably won't be around much and will probably miss the deadline.

-- We're concerned about a Hector/Imp connection. Was Hector's rationale for acting on Imp N1 ever properly explored?

-- The SK vs Town inspects on Hector were also not properly cleared up. Some half-ass suggestions were given.
-- The whole contradiction between Lenglon and BHK and Max has not been resolved to any satisfaction.

I know, but there's still pieces of information missing. I think EP and I have come up with some adequate guesses for the information that's available but obviously if all the information to solve these was available then the game would be solved. Maybe the information is available and I just can't remember hard enough.

So I've had it in the back of my head that Crystalized was scummy before being banished, but I'm having a hard time figuring out why. Can anyone remind me WHY we think the person the mafia removed from the game is scum?

My read on Crystalizedmire was obvscum or Knightwing64esque naievete but it's been forever ago since Crystalizedmire was actually here to play the game and I'm not going to reread the game to refresh my read.

I'm guessing that Crystalizedmire's banishment (first and second) was a product of coordination rather than lucky night actions. I also don't know why any malicious player would want to keep town Crystalizedmire out of this game this long, since I think town Crystalizedmire wouldn't be the hardest mislynch to sell and Crystalizedmire doesn't come across as a power player with a dangerous role for scum.

I should probably mention that my vote steal has another effect in that it makes my target unable to target me. I don't think this has been relevant given my choices of targets and I don't think it help solves any mysteries. For reference, I targeted sofanthiel (doubled to NQT probably) on N1, sofanthiel on N2, Knightwing64 on N3, and Secretdorf (but probably randomized to NQT) on N4.

Elephant Parade is summarizing a lot of musings and thinkings I have about the game, many of which are in mason chat, so I'll just leave him to state the major conclusions.

hector13 and Max are the only players who can change a player's target if my recollection isn't totally wrong, but hector13's randomize is self confirming because of the Esteemed Hams auto he hands out, and Max only claimed the self bus/protect after I asked him directly about it. Max was unable to use this ability on N4 due to violating the Esteemed Hams post restriction, and therefore could not potentially be responsible for the contradicting inspection results on hector13 via bussing himself with hector13. This is assuming his claim is accurate, and not mostly accurate but carefully constructed to provide himself an alibi for this particular issue.

I think Max is a good choice for elimination today. I don't think the game will end with his elimination though. If the game continues, which I expect it will, then I believe there's probably one more scum and possibly two more scum, and I suspect remaining scum is between Lenglon, ToonyMan, and Crystalizedmire. This is mostly based on feeling and gut check level evaluations of night game inconsistencies and potential resolutions.

I don't think I'm doing too bad but Elephant Parade is definitely being way more detailed about this than I am.

It would make the game a lot easier if you were.

It's not the game we're playing though.

Max, what nights did you use this self bus/protect?

I suppose ToonyMan did say that but I did not take away from that statement alone that that's something he would definitely do.

blah blah declaring that you will definitely kill a player in a game with busses and redirects and mergings all of them unclaimed is silly blah blah blah blah blah

Well Imp, you blew it. Here's the real reason. You know, I haven't posted a readslist this entire game thus far. I should change that shouldn't I?

Jim and EP are pirate, not mafia, but not masons and still need to die. Jim's the redirector of the pair.  There's no way there's two different mason-miller teams, we don't get to have both Jack's and Jim and EP's as real. They were slow to explain things yesterday to avoid self-incriminating, and redirected CK to Max as a proxy to check Max without putting themselves at risk of detection, having suspected that Max might be SK but not having confirmation.
Toony, Hector, CK, and dorf are town, and are honest in their claims.
Max is SK (the necromancer) and got caught up having fun performing a deduction spiral and forgot what their own wincon is.
Crystal is pirate with Jim and EP, and probably really annoyed at being kept out of the game by Max.
Imp is last maf, the merger, having stayed off the BHK wagon, stayed off the Egan wagon, and stayed off the sofanthiel wagon.
They are refusing to break the post restriction in order to retain their factionkill.

Oh, and yesterday I was redirected to someone Jim/EP wanted inspected for them because they're high-risk, namely secretdorf. secret was merged with BHK by Imp for similar reasons.

This is kind of hard to respond to since a lot of it relies on supposition and speculation that isn't really based off of anything.

I'd say it's unlikely for me and Elephant Parade to be a pirate team since we inspect as mafia, and if we didn't kill EuchreJack he and ToonyMan could have made five town players inspect as Pirates, at which point there would be more Pirates millers than actual Pirates which I guess is possible but feels kind of strange. I don't think Crystalizedmire makes a good teammate for a potential Jim/Elephant Parade scum team since I really want to lynch Crystalizedmire if they're ever not banished.

Jack's ability was a neighborizer, and not a masonizer, so there would be two miller group chats, but not two miller mason groups like you're suggesting, which is less pedantic of you than I usually expect.

And you know, maybe FallacyofUrist didn't want your group chat inspect to be wholly infallible by having it only work on scum, and so having a neighbor group and a mason group isn't so unreasonable to expect from that perspective.

Also, scum team EP/Jim/CM isn't responsible for NQT's death because EP and I have provable actions and CM has been banished, so unless you suspect double actors, then us doing the kill doesn't work out.

Also, reading ToonyMan as town and his claims as accurate, but arguing that Imp retained some weird mafia powers that ToonyMan's role swap wouldn't have eliminated is certainly possible, but seems like a stretch.

So overall, wildly speculative/10.

dorf: DO NOT make any suicide plays, we don't have enough town votes to retain majority if you are dead. You are our counter to Jim, and Jim's vote-stealing will enable him to win on the spot if you kill yourself.

I can't accumulate votes like Secretdorf can.

lol

I am surprised about Jim and EP. But when that I actually think about it, there is a moderate probability it's true. The bomber EP is a greater threat probably. But why were they asking Imp to inspect them?

Because we're actually masons and the infallible, unredirectable inspect Imp has would confirm two players for the price of one.

Is Imp mafia?

Probably not. Imp not choosing to solve your slot at some point bugs me and refusing to break the post restriction also bugs me. Alone, it's whatever, but together, it's suspect.

I think this obsessive behavior regarding you inflicts town players, particularly inexperienced ones, more often than scum, and that's mostly what I see with Imp. At least, I hope this isn't being done knowingly and intentionally because that would be rude.

I already said I expected Esteemed Secretdorf would have a vig kill last night.

I called for that and was told I was heard by someone who claims they can do that, D4.

who said this

Lenglon, what other things can you purchase with the currency you accumulate?

Max, what's the nature of you being normally untargetable? Are you passively bussing yourself with people?

One problem regarding that: I randomized Esteemed Jim Groovester last night, so he didn’t do the redirect.

Have you been casually randomizing the entire game?

Whose vote did he steal then? Likely Esteemed notquitethere.

Is it something we should be worried about, that the two times he’s confirmed steaming a vote from someone they’ve died?

I'm not responsible for the kill on N4 on notquitethere and I'm not responsible for the kill attempts on NQT & sofanthiel on N1.

A part of me secretly hopes that I'm actually unknowingly killing people, since that would be fucking hilarious, but I don't think that's what's going on here.

I am also waiting for what Jim has to say about all of this.

I'm going through the thread now, but what in particular do you expect me to comment on?

FallacyofUrist, are banished players able to affect the game in any capacity?

Under normal circumstances, no. An ability would have to specifically mention it in order for it to affect banished players or be used by banished players.

Also, FallacyofUrist, do banished players count for win condition evaluation? I.E., if a player is scum and they banish themselves, does the town still have to eliminate that player to win?

Lenglon did not target Jim and BlackHeart on N3 because both players are in groupchats, not just one. It was some other combination.
Yes, that's the logical interpretation. Unfortunately, if not Esteemed Jim Groovester, I don't know who or why.

It was Lenglon's action but it was mostly your deductions that got to me and BHK as the true targets of Lenglon's action, and the result was ultimately incorrect, so somebody has to square up how that happened, and since it was mostly your deductions, it might as well be you.

I've pulled the 'man i have no idea how that happened' defense before in a BYOR (and won with it even though most of dead chat saw through it), so I probably don't accept the shrugs of confusion from you and Lenglon on this.

Also webadict thinks you're responsible for the action duplication which I think isn't totally unreasonable.

Yes, I'm aware you've claimed masons with Esteemed Jim Groovester, but BYOR 16.

I asked for a terribly ironic role so I'm pretty sure miller masons is FallacyofUrist fulfilling my request.

blah blah I'm not an adventurous scum player normally blah blah

ALSO, there's only been one set of mason claims so far in this game, UNLIKE BYOR 16 where there were two.

Honestly, Esteemed Elephant Parade, would you be willing to claim the circumstances in which your bombs go off?
You've been very helpful, but, just being rational, if there's an actual serial killer lurking, I... would tend to suspect the guy putting bombs on everyone first.

Yes, I'm aware you've claimed masons with Esteemed Jim Groovester, but BYOR 16.
This is a completely reasonable request, but I still don't think claiming the condition would help town.

Knowing the condition I agree with my mason partner on this.

And of those, TM and SD have been inspected as NOT IN GROUPCHAT and town, respectively. I currently think The Canadian kitten is the most likely player to have performed the nightkill, but I'm having a hard time squaring that with their bizarre claim today. Why would scum!TCk claim to have inspected Hector as a miller after Imp announced having inspected them as town?

Given the timing of the claims (within two minutes of each other) and the start of the day (within five minutes) I see this as The Canadian kitten reporting a genuine role result and not going full speed with a fake SK result. 76 seconds is enough time to pull back on a fake claim if it's not going to work out, unless The Canadian kitten is an IRON SCUM player and follows through with gambits planned during the night phase regardless of information coming out to the contrary.

Seeing as how The Canadian kitten has decided to be a dead chat mouth piece, I don't see TCk being an IRON SCUM player as too terribly likely.

I don’t think the masons are aligned with Esteemed Secretdorf if they’re all scum, else I’ll be having words with Most Esteemed FallacyofUrist post-game.

What teams make sense if there are an entire other scum team?

Team lurker Secretdorf/The Canadian kitten/Crystalizedmire

Team skill ToonyMan/Lenglon/?

Those are the only ones I can think of. I guess team irony Jim/Elephant Parade/? if you suspect the mason claims, which, you know, fair enough, but also, bite me.

Another ability of mine since I evolved is that I have free access to dead chat. Sofa only started answering questions once BHK got lynched, and they both confirmed that they and egan were in the same team together and that they think there should be a second scum team
They also claim that the Web was not targeted by any of their scum team.
Additonally Sofa is adamant that Imp is part of another scum team

Take any of the statments claimed by dead scum with a grain of salt. I can't verify or have gained more info since some people are actually missing from dead chat/ not in server

Do the dead scum in dead chat think there is a second scum team, or do they know there is a second scum team?

Not that I'm going to trust the word of dead scum, but it's worth asking.

This is 100% deadchat webadict.

What does deadadict think about Crystalizedmire? Also how many scum does webadict think there are if a second team is unlikely?

I now only exist as a puppet to Web's little spirit.

I'm not really satisfied with you just being a dead chat megaphone, so I demand to know what your opinions are of things, without dead chat's influence.

If I missed 150 posts of people egging Imp on into breaking an imaginary post restriction,

Imp, just quit being a fucking goober, and break your post restriction.

Your old role is DEAD

There's no reason to be attached to your DEAD role because YOU'RE NEVER GETTING IT BACK

It's DEAD

DEAD AND GONE

DEE EEE DEE DEAD

Accept it and move on with your life.

It's kind of FUCKING WEIRD to get SO ATTACHED to a role in a role madness game like a BYOR.

You can literally stop being a FUCKING GOOBER right now.

Do you want to be a FUCKING GOOBER for the rest of your life? Because you are on pace to being a FUCKING GOOOBER for the rest of your life at this pace.

Seriously what the FUCKING GOOOBER

Think the elimination could do that?

Why are you thumbs up about them being wiped and not thumbs up about them being eliminated?

So now that I am caught up on the thread,

I generally like Secretdorf whenever he posts, but I also acknowledge he really doesn't post that frequently.

That said, everything I said before I caught up with the thread still applies because there wasn't some earth shattering revelation from Secretdorf or about him in my absence. The number of votes is an asset for whatever team he is on, and therefore if he is town it would be a shame to eliminate him and his stockpile of votes. However, him being scum or a hostile third party is troubling, but given his previous claims regarding the matter, seven is the magic number of votes before bad stuff happens to him (if his claims are accurate) or surrounding him (if he's fibbing key parts of his claim) and therefore wiping his role would mitigate the potentially most deleterious effects of his role if he's not super willing to play ball with his own self elimination.

I don't think a Secretdorf elimination solves a lot of the game, since he can provably steal votes, so I think I'd prefer someone more informative as the lynch for Day 5, and also, I am incredibly aggravated by you and your continued obsession with Secretdorf. Imp, I see myself in you, when I played in the very first Beginner's Mafia of this board, and I gave webadict hell for, I don't even really remember, because I somehow convinced myself that he was scum and would not see anything else. Ultimately my interpretation of that game proved to be incredibly inaccurate, but I had to die and the game had to end before I could see how wrong I actually was. So I understand quite well the desire to be right, but I also strongly feel that your desire to be right will come at the expense of you actually being right.

So I pose to you, does your targeting of Secretdorf truly come from a place of you suspecting him of being an obstacle to your win condition, or does it come from a place of you wanting to prove that your instincts and judgment are correct? If you admit to the latter, I will not mock you for it (this is a lie), but it would be a valuable step in your growth as a mafia player on this board. Eating shit for being wrong is not something necessarily bad or wrong or unhelpful or embarrassing when it comes to playing mafia. This very game, you saw ToonyMan, also a veteran of the very first Beginner's Mafia of this board, eat shit for being wrong about EuchreJack (I would have also eaten shit for being wrong about EuchreJack if I had agreed to some condition on his alignment flip), and ToonyMan's standing on this board as a crafty, detailed, and cunning player has not been reduced as a result of it.

I don't expect that you will have enough honesty with your self introspection to answer that 'I am obsessed with Secretdorf', but once the game is over, please acknowledge that there were players who understood you that you ignored.
