Random question from me.   Behold the power of green.

Any new easter eggs around?  Like the scrolling too far left or right in 2D?  Or the Hit '?' too many times easter egg?   Just...ya know....so I know to start looking.

And related, did we find all of them so far in the current version?


For some reason I can't get the idea out of my head of a custom creature made with microcline skin saying "You have struck microcline!" Every time you attack it.
What happened if you scrolled too far?

Not adventure mode, but...

zones that are hot enough to set your dwarves aflame come with a warning on the zone properties menu.

Rain, when it's hot enough, will turn to steam when it hits (possibly going through a brief 1/7 stage, not sure here)

The raw preview for dwarves seems to lack a DAMBLOCK tag. This makes sense, what with the new combat system, but will there be anything with a similar function?

Eh, as you pointed out, I was dead wrong and haven't gotten around to figuring things out yet.

Tie = Nolynch right?
Solifuge purely to break the tie, as I rather doubt the town's capacity to avert mafiakill.

There's a lot of Assyrian-style stuff in world gen that might get realized during actual play, but there are also a lot of things that are not going in.
Assyrian-style?

The Assyrians had a reputation for being mean.  The worldgen thing where people get flayed and their skin nailed to a tree or whatever is straight out of their repertoire.  That said, I doubt any of that was unique to them -- I think they got focused on because they were longstanding enemies of the people who wrote the Old Testament.  Threetoe knows much more about this stuff, I think.

Here's something I came across while reading about the practice of flaying.  Apparently the "gruesome sculptures" in worldgen have historical precedent, but they also start to stink after a while, so they packed the rotting skins in containers to keep the odor sealed up.
ah, hmm. (Nineveh's the one I remember, btw. there're like 4-5 capitals at different times...)
