Yeah I'm with Baconeer on this one, I feel like any other tileset would just confuse me more. Lets keep it as it is.

You have about five seconds to stop that alligator and elf from being dumped into magma. Save them!
Couldn't save them, but somehow caught another alligator. Also I found an underground magma sea.

like as if we didn't already have enough magma

yeah thats my bad, the wiki said that designating them to dump would disarm the elves. I took my eyes off it for a second and the hordes of idle dwarves had already commited the act.
also i uploaded the fort to the map archive

granite 1st- Magic dwarf wakes up and looks around. "we're living in rooms made of sandy clay", he says in a disappointing tone of voice. "and we're being protected by a mere row of cage traps and 2 novice military dwarves ". He downs his morning cup of plump helmet flavored coffee and decides that he's going to run things around here for a while.

granite 2nd- construction starts on rock layer housing, magma moat, and an underground greenhouse so that he can have better coffee.

granite 11- peregarret and Deviled get married, they decide to forgo any formal celebration

Slate 15 - Iden oliningiz gets taken by mood and creates an artifact throne

(i forgot to do regular updates for a while)
     - magma moat turns into a plain old water moat/cistern due to aquifer
     - Tons of useless imigrants arive, time to start recruiting
     - bridge build for lower and main enterance
     - elven ambush, oh no

     - finished new magma works
     - finished small greenhouse farm
     - finished danger room. Has a lever cause i'm to retarted and lazy to make a repeater
     - danger room kills cat!
     - one week later, all ten military dwarves are legendary
     - in the process of creating a clothing industry
moonstone 17th deviled withdraws from society
moonstone 22nd deviled finishes a legendary olivine throne
Opal 11th 'plankOfWood' Reglegon, Axe Lord has bestowed the name Ngilok Som upon a iron shield!
Opal 16th - magicdwarf notices traps on the west bank of the river.. They contain Alligators!
Opal 21st - Evilcherry bestows a name on his iron shield

and that is basically the end of my turn.

Deviled it is now your turn:
- I added 3 levers the one by the danger room controls the spikes, the one by the underground tunnel controls the bridge in there, and the one in Magicdwarfs study room controls the main bridge.
- I've added enough stone housing so that you can start to eliminate the clay housing.

Here's whats going to happen, I'm going to start playing the fort from the beginning and if I finish a year before Baron Baconeer does, we'll use my save, and the Baron will get another turn later in the cycle.

I've really been itching to play this fortress, and my winter break ends Jan 4.

This is moving alot slower then I anticipated. You've had the fort for 4 days already and your only in Galena (late summer)? is it an fps thing or do you just not have that much free time?

Update should be coming soon.

This phrase is basicly a kiss of death on a young Succession game. :P

Speak not such words! Armok will take them unto his fiery heart and let them take place in such a manner!
I think you jinx'ed it, now we'll never see that fortress again
