Life Advice / XBox Live is really confusing me
« on: March 07, 2011, 10:55:29 pm »
Well, with no way to see what Free users get because their site is bugged, i can't ask why i can't play online again.

You see, as a free user, i was able to play for 3 consecutive days, now in this hour, i am unable to join, because it won't let me join for online activity, so i don't know what they're doing. So i can't tell why i can't connect back to play with people online.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Because i want to get back to playing with people, but their site is bugging out.

DF Suggestions / Easier way to prepare for ungerground farming
« on: October 31, 2010, 02:47:24 pm »
I had a good idea just now, and i thought i'd display it... hopefully it wasn't already done/has been suggested.

The thing is, preparing for an underground farm is a bit annoying, but, what if you could MOVE the dirt into an area, and use that as your farm? Think about it, you could make a farm in/near the dining hall, and make food easier to collect. It should be possible enough, right?

Other Games / MMO on Kong anyone? (Critter Forge)
« on: October 21, 2010, 03:57:28 am »
Hey guys, i've been recently playing this game, and i was wondering if you guys were willing to give it a go?

Theres not much mmo playability, except for the fact that all enemies you fight in the arena are player-made enemies, and the ladder fights you can make when you get a guild up. Sadly, it's maxed to 11 people (i think).

From what i can tell, the game is basically about playing god with creatures, and basically you get to make creatures out of any creature, as long as you collect dna from them. The start of the game is pretty easy to get through (i went from 1 - 17 within 1/4th a day XD), so yeah.

I'm not very good with descriptions, so sorry.

Other Games / Anyone remember a browser-based game?
« on: September 24, 2010, 04:56:46 pm »
I'm hoping it still exists, cuz i feel like playing it now, so let me see if i can describe it.

It's basically like a text-based rpg game, based off of DND rules (which i'm talking about ROLLING), and you roll your stats that you get, and... i dunno about skills though. But when you start, i think you start off in a town, and theres this one adventure i think the second one where you start off with getting past 2 trolls to go into a cave area, and you can use a skill to map it out or something.

Theres tons of other areas, and a useless shop that seems to sell useless items, which leaves the needs to fight for good items. Not to mention theres this one quest i remember that you have to fight subsequent fights to get good items, and can do it more then once for a better one, and i dunno if it's a large amount like maybe being able to do it 10 times or more, never went past the second.

Not to mention the boat adventure... and stuff.

And access to an adventurer premium service for cents a year i think, that lets you have good stuff, and i think it's a if you buy it on a week, you get special stuff off it.

So i hope i detailed it enough for you guys to know, and hope it's still alive. So anyone remember the game?

Edit: And after about 3 minutes later checking my e-mail, BOOM, there it is... Sryth

« on: September 20, 2010, 05:26:38 pm »
Kind of weird. Whenever i try to open up the wiki (yes i know it's down, but i didn't know for how long until i saw the main page), theres a little present decided to wait for me. Octet-stream application? Whats that gotta do with the downed wiki? Hacking maybe?

DF Suggestions / Making the entire justice law up
« on: May 23, 2010, 03:23:34 pm »
Couldn't find it with search.

So, i was thinking. Maybe we could be able to set out own laws, allowing the justice system to crackdown more on many things. And when we can prepare it up with guards, we can later move forward with a plan to force them. To be honest, i think it should also help cause fun, and piss off/scare dwarves that don't want that kind of law.

Lets say, once you begin to prepare getting a justice system in working order, you could setup some laws for them to follow. For example, setting it up where going all tantrum and throwing stuff around here and there could be set to warning/chain/cage/beating/major beating/death, and it'll be pretty big. Basically handling an entire fortress and it's laws to the letter, allowing you to customize it to your liking, easily making it possible to become any fortress you like. Heck, it'd be fun to setup a fortress which has a law that bans cats, and any cats coming in are butchered. Even elves coming near or into your fortress could be killed on the spot, which would cause even more fun.

It's just, having to setup the entire laws than wondering what each one is and it's severity would be pretty nice.

DF Gameplay Questions / Annoying Immigrants...
« on: April 23, 2010, 05:12:54 pm »
I know it helps increase the population of your fortress and all, but i wish i could lower it without changing the population cap so i no longer get anymore immigrants, and i only get population with pregnancies, making it slower and easy to work with the population, than fast and hard to work with the ever-growing population.

Like as an example. I just start out, and within the first season change, i get 9 immigrants. 9! Thats too much, and it had little to no wealth for that much, and keeping up with the food in such a short time is near impossible when you need to quickly mine out farms, AND dump water into the farms until it fills up to the brim with water to make them, or flooding the farms.

Now, this is where the question comes. How do i SHUT OFF IMMIGRANTS? Or at least lower than to nearly 1 or so.

DF Gameplay Questions / Magma Vent + Bottomless Pit Seed(s)
« on: February 24, 2009, 03:54:52 am »
I've been wanting to simulate this, however, i don't know a way to get random seeds enough to get it to work. If anyone found a seed with the bug happening, can you tell me? I just wanna find out how dangerous it can be.

Also, the one video simulating it, is it possible to push a Magma vent on the surface, or perhaps... in the air? I'm sure it may get a bit dangerous with something like that, but i was only wondering.

DF Bug Reports / [40d]Cat bug with lava?
« on: January 25, 2009, 07:12:29 pm »
For some reason, 2 cats are standi--well.. more like floating/swimming in magma/lava. What i did was decide to push all animals in a volcano to prevent a animalsplosion, and it seems 2 cats are somehow surviving while trenched in 7/7 lava! That is real strange. I'm already certain they're straight in magma, it says 7/7 when i look at the square they're in.

Edit: Just to clarify, they're kittens.
