DF Gameplay Questions / Flooding the world with magma

I've tried this more than 4 times, usually my fortresses survive an average 3 years in-game, and the lava just dries up before it can even get out and spread. Only one time did i suceed in pushing it through, but that fortress only lasted for 2 seasons because of the tons of invasions.

Is there an easy way to flood the world with magma? I've been trying to make my own custom with enough to destroy it all but they all get rejected.

I just want something to watch as my character travels the mess in adventure mode.

When i assigned my second office's bed, it was supposed to be given to only the Captain of The Guard, but for some unknown reason, when i assign it to him, it's automatically assigned to a random farmer along with him. Nomatter how hard i try, i try to send a farmer one, but he's not on the list. It's real annoying.  >:(

I've got the region file if it's required to fix this.
