Toad recently implemented a "Humans only bring mules if no road" option, which i suppose there is still some bugs to clear out about. Also, i've not noticed the guild person coming when there are no nobles in the fort.

you can specify that they only use dark stone when building something. Only 3 types of those i think, and obsidian's common enough.

3x3 is good for your basic dwarf, with a bed at first and a cabinet + coffer/chest later.

The nobility will be demanding fancier quarters  , but you don't have to worry about them for a while.

that's strange... it returned to normal when it switched to summer. Just that all preferences that i had set earlier for plump helmet planting had been removed. Wonder if it had to do with me hitting 200 seeds or something...

Hokay, i've just encountered this 2 times in a row after the Baron and company arrives at the fortress.

I'm suddenly unable to plant any plump helmets at all in the ground. Every season in the farm plot just displays it in solid red. It's not a lack of seeds, as i have about 170 of them

Seeing as i have no sweet pods and i doubt the other two are edible, i'd seriously like to know if this is some kind of bug or not, lest my fortress starves to death.

re: finding no. of food items.

Go to the Kitchen submenu of the "z" screen for an accurate breakdown of how much cookable stuff you have, which includes seeds.

To find what's in a particular bin or barrel use "k" to go to its space and press enter.

it's less that than a vestige of the civil war bug. My sherrif went for a fistfight after healing a broken bone and the entire fort turned out to kill him which led to 3 other dwarves being cut down(along with a whole bunch of "interupted due to Sheriff messages"). The guy he originally started the fistfight with was relatively unharmed with just a few bruises, which i think is intended behavior.

having the nobles killed when starting fistfights is something of a annoyance, Toady. It is a bug, right?

Hey Toad, could we possible have a list of precisely how many bars of metals are needed to make particular smithing items? Would help me a lot in trying to build stuff in one of my old save games for the noble horde.
