Humans, humans in Nilarzes! First elves and now this, I’d almost welcome a hundred trolls just about now. Their representative was a tall human female called Thil Scolddrove. She came with several merchants from a place called The Wordy Realm and asked if we were interested in becoming trading partners. I was thinking about calling for the bridge they were standing on to be raised but after taking a little gander of her fine assets I figured it could be worth our while.

I tell you, these humans sure are no elves. Leather, meats, metal, even drinks, what more could a dwarf ask for? We had some very nice armor just their size which they gladly accepted as payment. So long as that Thil comes with the merchants I’d gladly welcome them back another time.

With the humans and the constant construction outside I’ve been able to keep Rashvir and his disobeying my orders off my mind. I may have overreacted when Remalle first brought me the news but my not being able to keep my Captain in line hasn’t seemed to lose me any respect from my fellow dwarves as they re-elected me as Mayor.


I find it pretty insulting that we even have elections; King Alath handpicked me for this job because he trusted me, do they think they know better? Bah.

Just thinking wouldn't the proper title be the Phoenix Champion...
WoA Champion would be the ultimate one after a couple of Tornys...

Not really, the WoA Champion is meant to be the best of all the current dwarves. The Phoenix Opening is just the name of the tournament and there probably wont be anymore big tournaments for a while.

It could be a while before abculatter_2 checks the forums and I want to post the brackets so i'll choose his 1-weapon setup for him. Having a backup weapon at this point won't do much of anything anyways.

So, I assigned all 16 dwarves a number and using a RNG I drew the first 8 matches. All the matches are already set based on who wins and who loses and were made before the draws. I have alot to do in getting them equipped (there were alot more people choosing standard copper items then I had planned) and I still have some things to do in Nilarzes so the first matches wont be for a while. In the meantime you can make your predictions, taunt your opponent, or maybe both. Good luck!

Now that I look back I should made that clearer.

Ah. Yeah, Death and Lord didn't come up when I searched the name in dwarven because they both use symbols.

Edit: OH. I just figured out what Workerdrone's 'Uzindurple' means. It's Ironglove in HUMAN. Filthy tricky human.

There are some names given that I can't figure out if they're dwarven names or not and maybe some of you could clarify.

WorkerDrone: Is Uzindurple supposed to be the last name? And if it's from the language file what is it in english?

Keldor: Litostdural, did you mean Litastdural (Torchhonor)?

Rashilul: I can only change the last name in DC if it is a word in the language file and I can't figure out what 'Rashilul' is in english.

Remalle: I'll assume you want Amudakith (Thunderwrath) to be the last name and be changed in DC.

Neyvn: both weapons have to be the same type, and a Bronze Spear(-) would cost 300 not 150.

Nichaey: No training buying. Originally I was going to have it so you choose your skill levels and attributes, but it was all getting to be too much work and would be a real mess.

Toonyman: I don't think I should pick for you. In organizing this I've gotten to know what the best choices in equipment are, it probably wouldn't be fair.

So far I see about 4 people who could be real contenders. Luck will probably play a bigger role in these early rounds though with the limited choice in equipment.

Anyways, i'm getting alot more signups then I thought I would and the tournament is getting bigger and bigger. Rather then ending signups Sunday I think i'll cap this at 16, a good number for a tournament. There are 15 signups right now so there is 1 spot left.
