Not unless you change your raws on the fly.  Of course, having a goblin siege arrive and explode instantly is hilarious.

...hmm.  A creature with alcohol that boils on exposure to air as blood might work...

Controlled explosions can't be done, but you can go the thermonuclear route with [HOMEOTHERM:ridiculously high number], [STANDARD_FLESH], and [SEVERONBREAKS].  In 40d, at least.  In DF2010 I've been pondering a creature that releases clouds of boiling alcohol, but I don't know if that would work.

Unless more jobs get tools (fisherdwarves getting rods, metal crafters getting hammers...), it would probably be weird to have paintbrushes as anything more than an abstraction.  I do like the idea of paint, though, maybe even being used for non-wall-painting uses, like war paint in uniforms.

What happens if a hunter reaches great or legendary marksdwarfship (still playing 40d here)?  Do they change profession to champion?  If not, what happens if I draft my legendary marksdwarf hunter, will I be able to undraft him?

I think I read somewhere that if you were to fall onto a tree, you would get stuck there... can't remember the specifics anymore :-\
It's true.  The game considers you as being "flying", so if you don't have the tag apparently you can't move at all.

If you just want a playable vanilla dragon, put
[ENTITY:DRAGON]
(tab)[CREATURE:DRAGON]
(tab)[INDIV_CONTROLLABLE]
in the entity.txt file.  Keep in mind you won't be able to breathe fire.
