I have this nice lignite block that I would like to move, but that stuff is HOT, so what would be the best way to move a burning pile of ore?

A "unpause" Button.


Currently the game is one endless cycle;


Designate/Check/Order something

Wait.

Desigante/Check/Order something

wait for execution

Repeat.


What I suggest is a simple unpause button so I can ORDER WHILE I WATCH.

Currently you cant do anything if you dont want your dwarfs to stop working, but with a simple unpause button you could designate while they work away. Or check there profiles while they do the work.

Or finally read all the engravings without feeling gulity.

Sup, how about dwarfs get "into afterlive" by the way there god dictates.

Like;

Utrist McNorthGod dies and gets buried with two gold coins on his eyes.
Utrist McArmok     dies and gets buried in a tomb where a cow gets sacrificed.
John  McNeptun    dies and gets his covin droped into a body of water.
Utrist McChaos     dies and gets his coffin set on fire
Utrist McChrists    dies and just gets burried. Boring

Successfull matching "burial" will grant happnies to other dwarfs that where his friends/lovers -> "Has attained a well done funreal lately"

Anyone ever thought about building a sandlion fortress/trap?

(you know that animal that sucks smaller things into a quicksand-like opening.

DF Modding / Mayday graphic set + current version of DF?

Possible yes/no?

I guess this was asked a dwarfzillion times before, but I fail at using the search.

So how can I use the current version + mayday graphic set?

I messed up my old install (fiddling to much with raws, I wanted to be able to buy GCS at the start) so I need a reinstall and I thought why not get the latest one.

Just throwing them out there;

1. Fix the Enemy Definition.

This has been around since boatmurder if I recall right, even there elephants would sit on top of Goblins without feeling the need to attack them. Adding a few more "groups" that are hostile to each other (Pray, Hunter for animals for example) would allow for deeper game play all over, I finally wanna be able to feed the wild spiders dammit.

2. Water

2.1
-Fix for the fact that "over" pressurized water will not push anything at all and instead just fill up the room;
If a item gets "hit" by 7/7 water (in one frame) it should automatically move to the next area with the LEAST water in it.

2.2
Heat Transfer;

Water passing over Hot stone should heat up, to different degrees, from swimming pool warm, to burning hot -> witch could help clean the water

2.3
Clean/dirty Water

There should be a Water Quality, based on the ground it touched. As in a floored and Walled water Storage would have very high quality (Legendary Water if you cook it before running it though your water system - where it does not stand still once and is replaced regularly).

"Pending" option

In a workshop it would be interesting to have a Pending option (you select a order, press P) and it makes sure the order stays there even if you run out of the needed matiral - it will check every 5 mins or so if the product has been resupplied and it will then resume the paused progress, like say a kitchen is at "render Fat"  P R and it will stop once the fat is out - but not remove the order.

DF Gameplay Questions / List of all possible "Tags"?

I reached the point where the 100% vanila gameplay could need some personal touch, so I would like to know all the possible [Tag]s.

Searched here and the in the wiki, however I did not find any complete list of all the possible Tags (or at least the useful ones, like fire breath for cats).

Could you please point me in the right direction?

*Also is it possible to change the "faction" a creature belongs to?
I want GCS to attack goblins for example, witch they dont atm.

What influences the Quality of the Water? What creates the "best" water?

I figure that laying a floor and cleaning the tunnel/storage area makes it better or?

In the last ambush one of my dwarfs was sent flying - as he flew over a cage trap it snapped and caged him, however I cant seems to free him again. He does not show up as placeable in a build cage and I cant throw him in a pit....

DF Gameplay Questions / What does a blue ! mean?

Hi,

I am currently trying to get some elves mad (they are locked in my Trade Depot with floodgates) to then catch them with Cage Traps and then let them take part in a 3 way fight between my captured goblins, humans and elves.

However, how do I know that they are "ready" to be "gathered"?

Currently they are all flashing blue and one of there animals got enraged.

What does the blue ! mean? Will it make them trigger the cage traps?
