General Discussion / Re: Wow (Not the game) - Cover Versions
« on: April 05, 2010, 10:59:54 am »
The Abba cover is really good. I can not stand the original, but the cover is actually pleasant to listen. On the other side ... those Holy Diver covers are one of the saddest things I have heard.

Personaly my favourite cover is this:

(first minute is boring, but then it blows your mind)

And if count also remakes of not the music but the accompanying video, then:

(yeah, Radiohead again and originaly from Newgrounds, I think)

Duuuuhm... hoooow?

Warthogs have these little dinky nipples, nothing to grab hold of! D:

The same way you can milk a pig. Unless you have a special aparture, you can suck the milk and spit it in container. Have fun.

Tactical Nuclear Penguin.

Yes.

I actually hope I will never taste this. On the other side some other beers from this brewery looks really promising.

Yes ... sometimes I wish for a buildable sign "Get lost, this is our fort!"

If you want reliable stealth sections, go Dues Ex. Nuff said. Anyway, possbily the dev was drinking whisky with a dose of cocaine when making the stealth sections?

Things like this always make you wonder about beta testing.

Looks great! Only the zombie letters need to be more dissorted - those using tilesets with background noise for ground will not notice.

Eh... everything right now is just drawn pixel by pixel. Zooming would require a pretty major reworking.

Sorry.

Feel free to modify or replace the spritesheets, though.
Just make sure your new one is the same size and has the same name.

I see - never mind, I can always change my resolution/use magnifier

Dwarf Fortress Chess V.1.0

This is awesome! I just have slight problem recognizing what figure is what ... Would you care to enable zooming or making the whole thing a little bigger?

I have seen something simmilar here - someone used several characters to describe different creatures. This is really interesting also but we need screenshots!

Wow, this game plays so well I might even be willing suffer under the DRM...

It is so elegantly simple and complex. It feels more like a boardgame than a RTS.

For me it was a phd student that was lecturing us on basic course of c++. We all had some programming experience (mostly making easy simulations like modeling the flow of heat or wearing of road in front of lights, etc). He had absolutely no idea of what we will be doing in the class before it actually started. When he needed something or something else was not working he just found it on web. Then he made sure we actually understand the piece of code by forcing us to modify it in some way. The class was absolute madness, but it opened our eyes what is possible to do in a really short time and what to do when something is terribly wrong. During the course (under 20 real life hours) we made primitive multiplayer 3D FPS with in-game voice chat and scoring system.
