DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Dinosaur Ranch Challenge
« on: November 03, 2009, 01:58:50 pm »
Use bridges instead of hatches and you can cover a wider area, thus making it more likely you'll grab the dino.

Several times I accidentaly killed some creatures this way - bridge catapulted then several z-levels and tha fall killed them.

If you knock the dino out with dust from a cavein, then they'll be susceptible to traps, particularly cage traps. So instead of trying to lure them into your ranch, you can simply knock them into cages and haul them there.

In combination with automatic cave-in generator and the unpausing utility this could be very interesting posibility.

Guys on tigsource.com noticed your work and are excited: "Now this is a dream coming true right here!"

Also there is a lot of comments like "Awesome", "I might play this game after all", etc.

I beat KOTOR a video game with containers a few times. Hint: Don't forget to loot and plunder every container you see.

Anyway, mastermind.

This was introduced in Zelda wasn`t it? You walk in some house, steal everything you can, destroy all the vases and whole time nobody takes care. And it is even in new games, why??? I remember only Gothic had some people defending their property, but ...

Anyway, hooray, let`s play I am looking forward to.

... some goats and goblins ...

Just got a idea - why not temporarily use bitmaps from DFG? Animals designed for this project are not in isometric view, so...

It's very nice and well worth the 15 bucks. I'd easily recommend it to anyone who likes hack n' slash games. Supposedly it even runs well on netbooks so it's perfect for those boring travels, lectures and business meetings.

Beware of addiction though, it has a very high "just one more level" factor.

Maybe it is a problem with my OS, but on my netbook it is not comfortably playable. I can run it, play it, but when there are more than 5 enemies, it gets little laggy.
Are the settings kept down low, and is 'netbook mode' checked?

I AM SO BLIND! Thank you very much

If I get it right, then each type of weapon has a given reload time. Then there are modifiers +- reload rate in percents.

I couldnt agree more. A consistent look and feel is very important. So, as stated earlier, noone get offended if something doesnt make it in, or gets replaced, we're just striving for a consistent look. And there is full support for alternative tile-sets anyway :)

Edit: also, Footkerchief, I will have a look at that, thanks

I agree also - one sprite per animal but please change direction where are creatures facing for some of them. It would be very weird if every single animal was looking to the right.

I can provide you with a number of possible answers.

1. Crazed humans are somehow procreating with their year old children.
2. Your dwarves are sneaking under there when you aren't looking for a bit of tail.
3. She's actually a living portal to the plane of endless babies.
4. It's a glitch.

OR invention of sperm bank is older than we think

um... 20$ is about 3 days worth of food and transport fees for me, and I'm in the wealthiest billion of our planet's population.  :-\

Oh. OK, good reason.

Yes, I know $20 is a lot of money to some people. But here in the free world, I can pay 2 immigrants to work an hour for that price.

 :'(

What? Why does everybody think 20 bucks is too much for a game? How much do you spend each day in Starbucks? 10 bucks? And what about in Burger King? 3.3 bucks for one burger?

In my country I pay more if I visit cinema twice.

>> Look

I take that as explore, ok?

You are in relatively small space. You are looking at your rewards. Nearby is a device that gave you questions and another one for your answers. There also is a pile of notes you scribbled when solving puzzles. The last thing you have access to is a terminal you think you never used.
