Looks like great fun, very tempted to buy it! While what Silfurdreki explained/collated in his last post has actually helped my understanding of the Fallen London universe immensely, I can never help but want to see MORE of it. I know that getting the expansion will only leave me drained and with more questions than answers.

If you want more of the Fallen London lore I'd recommend this Tumblr that answers questions and writes short summaries of the lore. It's mostly focused on Fallen London, but much of the broad strokes apply to Sunless Sea as well. I read through quite a bit of it a while back and it's a really cool universe that Failbetter have created.

I'm having a blast with Zubmariner, the new locations all seem to be quite good. From doing a few of their stories they seem to be on par with the more complicated ports of vanilla Sunless Sea, places like Varchas, Adam's Way or The Khanate. I especially appreciate Athe, now that I realize how it works:

Also, the underwater map sailing is a bit more dynamic than the surface sailing, which is really nice. Various things randomly spawn on the sea floor that can do anything from just give you some fuel to start a mini-quest in a shipwreck.

I think it's for real space. If you read some lore articles from people that have played Fallen London extensively, it seems that

Personally I'm really looking forward to both Zubmariner and the sequel. I have been waiting for the DLC to start a new game (or several).

Man, this talk of 2007 "oldschool" Runescape makes me feel old. I remember playing Runescape with my brother on a 56k dial-up modem racking up huge phone bills. That must have been, what, probably 2001? Back then all characters were 2d sprites facing the camera at all times in a really low-poly 3d world. I had so much fun playing that and exploring the world.

I also remember hearing about Ultima Online, a mythical world that was like Runescape but much bigger and everything was possible. But alas it died before I got access to a stable internet connection and a disposable income.

Anyway, on topic: do games that are just generally obscure and sold badly but you absolutely love count? If so, Okami. It might be my all time favourite game, it has everything from incredible visuals and an amazing soundtrack to memorable characters and a great story.

Yeah, he's definitely not a good person by any means. I get the impression that someone went "hey, no one wants to play as an evil guy, why don't we make him more of a hero?" somewhere along the line. There's this huge disconnect between you gunning down police and the public supposedly loving you for beating up the occasional mugger, for example.

Watch_Dogs

It has its failures, sure, but I actually thoroughly enjoyed playing through it. It also had a really cool multiplayer gimmick in its hide-and-seek "invasion" online mode that could have been amazing were not everyone a walking arsenal at all times. In fact, I think the game could have been a classic if they had just not made you a GTA protagonist and instead limited you to small guns. It would have made extended shootouts with police impossible and given the game a more low-key feeling.

Is your horse supposed to show up on the NPC list? I'm wondering if it is meant to be that way or if it is a bug caused by him sharing the same name as one of the villagers.

I don't think it's supposed to. I have my dog on the list and it also shares a name with one of the villagers.

Sorry I haven't been online for a while, I got tied up with work and playing other things.

If the ME network is down, there is backup power in the form of three power cells. They have to be manually switched to output on the left until I figure out how the redstone controls for them work, unfortunately.

Refuelling the reactor is another option. It's simple as long as there's yellorite or blutonium ingots around, just drop them into the fuel port in the back of the reactor. It only accepts those ingots, and there's only one input slot.

The last thing I did last time I was online was to finish cleaning the mushroom island. It should be completely taint-free, including underground tainted nodes. There is a partially infected cave network to the north-west, but it's quite a ways from the shore, so it should be fine for quite a while.

Them? Just a moment, let me grab my tinfoil hat.

...

Ah, now I see clearly! It was THEM. THEM bastards.
Spoiler: For reference (click to show/hide)
Fun fact: when Them! was localised into Swedish (back when localisation of titles happened) it was named "Spindlarna", meaning "The Spiders" for some insane reason.

It should remove taint when right clicking and you have enough vis in your wand/staff. I've noticed it's a bit finicky with places that does not have fibrous taint, though.

No worries, you're doing this all for free so I'm just thankful we have somewhere to play when it's up!

Edit: Now I'm timing out when trying to connect instead. Pinging the server works fine, however. Hmm...
