The elves have hidden mind control mechanisms (wooden ones) in the brains of the zombie animals.
At the flick of a switch, the animals will become mindless killing machines and every single dwarf in your fortress will be hunted down and eaten.
With a side dish of +plump helmet roast+.

Butcher the animals before it's too late!

Probably the mayor of my first ''proper'' fort (it was still bad). She was called Gaul, legendary in a couple of non-fighting skills. I thought she was pretty cool, for whatever reason.
Also, another female dwarf called Urist from the same fort, my first champion to get a title. Used a copper hammer to whoop a bunch of gobbos. She was always my favourite military dwarf.

I read the Wiki for about 3 days before I even started up the game, and then I played along with the Wiki 'first fort' tutorial. Although, it still took me about 5 forts before I began to understand what was going on :P

If you add [trAINABLE] to a creature and try to tame them, but they've already killed some of your dwarves, they won't be friendly. The only difference is that your dwarves won't fight back. Idiots.
