He IS A dwarf... but in the area where it would normally list his likes, all it says is:
"He is very strong"

That it nothing else :P

Oddly enough, the king doesn't seem to have personal likes.
Was goign to say if there was a line saying something like "He enjoys Emeralds for their green color and crowns" that might be cool... bit he doesn't seem to have any in his profile.

So....

I got my King!

He seems an ok bloke, nothing too special. So I decided to make him into something more "Kingly"
Went through and started assigning him the best gear my fort had to offer!

Well looking at his equipment screen there is the usually list of "Individual choice" for everything... Except one.
for his head gear it says "Emerald Metal Headware"

Now, he isn't wareing any "crown" or any headgear at all, but it is still there.

Anyone seen this before?

The "Ultimate" method of dealing with HFS is of course the method that involves no Dwarf Deaths.

That is usually encasement via magma/obsidian farm, or the stand by of collapsing the mountain,

Ok so here whats going on...

As we know, you need a BARREL full of Lye to make soap...
Right now I have about 50 BUCKETS full of lye that are useless, because there seems to be a bit of water in each bucket...
The soap makers won't take the lye from the buckets to make soap...

How do I fix this?

Is there a way to pour Lye from buckets into barrels?

if so, send shafts down on those as well.

as a rule, i send shafts down all four corners of my embark.

Just out of curiousity why for? Just more acces?

One of my first (successful) forts ever!


Check that out mang, that was back when we had ECONOMY! when we weren't all filthy Commies like today!

And compare with one of more advanced forts (this is all in 40d bare in mind)

So heres my question...

If I remove the "no stun" tag will they wake up and go back to normal since they are "cured" now?
Or will it start them down the path to dying again?

Your dwarves probably have [NOSTUN] without [NO_SLEEP] - since creatures become stunned when they wake up, the inability to become stunned apparently prevents them from waking up.

AHA!!

Soo..... If we edit back in the Stun.. Will they wake up without adverse effects?
Or will that start the ball rolling to reinfection of the syndrome?

He said he changed a few things so that those effected would not died before being healed, basically "Nobreath" and "novision"

From what he said it sounded like after a certain amount of "natural" healing, these would no longer be needed and they could survive on their own...

I am curious what or how any of this caused the sleeping sickness?

Hmmm I wonder if that is it...

I guess I should admit the beast did "Deadly dust" that covered my Dwarves in freezing liquid.
Originally 8 were infected and covered in it, and doomed to die.

That wasn't so bad... But the infection spread and within a month the entire fort Suffocated.

I had a friend who said he could "Fix" it in Dwarf Hack, and save the eight as well as ensure that fort would be cleansed of the syndrome.

However.....Iam I right in guessing this sleeping sickness is some sort of side effect?
