Other Games / Re: Eve Online
« on: June 20, 2012, 09:05:56 am »
So I reactivated my Eve account recently and decided that the only way to have fun is to get a bunch of players together, start a corp, pick a fight with someone way over our size and get our asses kicked. Unfortunately none of my friends like this game and most of the ingame corps/players are taking this game waaaay to seriously (Most corps have minimum playtime demands and more of that nonsense)

So, I come to this thread with the following question: Any other Eve-playing (or wanting to play) bay12'ers here that want to join me on this Tony Montana-esque-suicidal-'losing is fun'-rampage-campaign?

As many suspected the trailer has been confirmed fake. (to generate publicity for a tv series about the dutch slave trade)

I really wished I was capable of playing this game. The level of depth and the sheer collaborative aspect of the entire thing is mind-numbingly enthralling. It trumps the coercive communication and intriguing teamwork that was once present in the once not-so-shit SOCOM series. Now, with the SOCOM series taking on the appears of that crappy FPS, Call of Duty, I've got nothing on par to play.

It is times like this that I wished my computer wasn't so crap that it renders me incapable of playing the game. If I had a better computer, I'd definitely give this a try. Till then, FML.

You could always try Operation Flashpoint (2001). Its the predecessor of Arma and although the graphics are dated (but the system requirements are equaly low) the game (combined with the fantastic E.C.P mod) is very simular.

Space rangers 2

One of the most dynamic, randomized and open-ended games I ever played.

I think that , although cannabis does cause harm to society, the whole criminalization of drug use hurts society a lot more.

Drugs are going to be used either way, we should pick the policy that minimizes the negative effects and keeps the criminals out of the system as much as possible.

As a kid I liked Star Trek, but I kept it secret for all my friends who where playing soccer outside all day.

Right now Iam living as a student in a house with my pott-smoking,alternative,vegetarian, left-wing,alternative-rock listening friends (all of whom play at least two instruments). Our favorite spare time activity is bashing the musical taste of our anti-drug,meat-loving, right-wing, Techno listening Neighbours below.

But recently I found out that I kinda like some most of the songs I bash

I must be some kind of brainwashed sleeper agent. Spying on the enemy, waiting to be activated

Is bucket country specific? We have buckets over here in Britain, are they called something else, elsewhere?
Yeah. USA calls 'em buckets.

And I have definitely heard that saying before.

What country might that be, pray tell?
[/quote]
Well the clue to the country should be the word "Bucket"

gehe, Iam afraid the only reason that I used the word "bucket" is because of the fact that "Bucket" is the only English word I know for that object :p

I (and most people I know) developed my english by watching movies, surfing the internet and playing videogames (English  [and german french latin ect]
classes at school where only two hours a week, which is totaly insufficient )

This improved our english but it also caused our english to be a weird combination of both british english and american english.

The saying itself is dutch (de druppel die de emmer doet overlopen)  although many countres have similar sayings.

And thus ends this lesson, back to the donations.

14
In my country they have a saying:

"the last drop of water that makes the bucket overflow" (poorly translated)

We all donated and I wasn't implaying that my donation was somehow "better", I just said that I took the opportunity to be "the last drop"

15
I know I already donated but the honor of bringing the total over the 2000 was just to great to resist.

12 dollar donated.
