Could someone tell me what happens to constructed walls and floodgates / inaccessible buildings (ones built under magma, underwater, behind walls etc) when you reclaim a fortress?

I want to abandon my current fortress but there are a lot of floodgates that if removed would flood loads of the lower levels, so do I have to build walls in front of them or block them off somehow?

DF Gameplay Questions / Increasing Siege Size

Is there any way to manually increase the size of Goblin sieges? I usually get about three groups of Goblins but I'd like a lot more to make it more challenging. (Fortress population is at 107, 20th year.)

DF Bug Reports / [40d] Unconscious dragon at edge of map

My first dragon arrived but it was instantly unconscious, and after checking the wounds page it appeared to have no nose or tail (dark grey wounds) It just sat there, stunned or unconscious until one Dwarf walked out to hammer it to death.

An enemy Dwarf in a siege just appeared to be missing his shoulder, right arm, right fingers etc and did the same thing.

When they showed up there were no other creatures around, and no Dwarves nearby.

edit - The terrain at the edge of the map is flat grass and trees.

My Baron just arrived at my fortress with a consort, a tax collecter, and a hammerer. After checking the wiki I decided I would prefer to leave the economy off by changing the init.txt settings to:

[ECONOMY:NO]
[ZERO_RENT:YES]

But after reloading my game the economy still seems to be on, rooms have the 'rent this room' option etc (though it is for 0 credits). Do I just have to wait a bit for my non-noble Dwarves to earn 1 credit so they can continue staying in their lavish rooms? I kicked one out to make room for the Baron and then couldnt give her the identical, empty, nice room next to it. Only the legendary Dwarves and Champions were allowed in the 'assign room' bit.

Once the economy is on can it be fully disabled or will I have to load an old save?

DF Gameplay Questions / Questions about Liaison

I have a couple questions about the liaison.

1) If the liaison dies will he be replaced by another one after a period of time? I looked through a load of topics here but found conflicting answers.

2) If the liaison stays permanently dead is there any possible way to resurrect him? Like editing the init or maybe someone made a liaison respawning mod?

3) If he does stay perma-dead, why is this? I guess I don't understand why they can't find one dwarf in your entire civilization who can fulfill the important tasks of tagging alongside a caravan for a bit and staring at my mayor while he sleeps...
