You'll have to download and regen the universe. Meaning you have to wait a little while while history replays itself with the different changes and then you have to start your life over. Or you could just stay with the old version.

My only question is, would installing things consist of introducing new bacteria to the mix?
Of course that leads to the question, what would Vista be as a bacteria?


Edit: After actually reading it, I figured out they edit the DNA of them, which instead leads to the question, what would Vista mutate the bacteria into?

I agree with in their OWN rooms, but NOWHERE else, otherwise the previously mentioned dining room problems may occur. Also, I think it should be according to their personalities, although combined with mental issues that could be implemented, it'll make our fortresses more fun. Imagine an OCD dwarf, constantly rearranging his furniture....

Once an animal gets a taste of Dwarven flesh, does it become more aggressive?

From my observations, this does indeed seem to be the case. Dwarven flesh must be delicious.
All that beer and magma must have marinated 'em.

But what about the Elf contamination of the dwarves? (Particularly the military dwarves.)

I've started it, looking at the units list now, no fish of any kind. Actually not many units at all, just my dwarves, my 2 pack animals, a hoary marmot, and two mountain goats.

Today i found a site with almost every feature, including:
HFS
Brook
UG River
Chasm (if you expand a tiny bit)
Magma Pipe
UG Pool
Flux

My problem with the dwarf heaven site was that it didn't have any sedimentary layers, and therefore no bauxite. This site has a sedimentary layer, and hopefully bauxite, as it can be contained in any sedimentary layer.

That's right I generated this with standard "smaller" parameters, I believe that is everything, and just to let you know, I am running vanilla DF here.
Really, who needs magma pools when you have magma pipes? Or aquifers when you have other water sources, and ones that DON'T prevent you from digging.

My current project is a massive tank of magma supported above my map, 15z levels or so of magma, so I might add a nice vault somewhere that requires deconstruction of the tank support to get to it. I need to finish this project...
