Actually, Toady said in this 4-hour-interview that melancholic dwarves don't actively commit suicide, but their pathing algorithm just completely ignores pits and such. They go for the shortest route. Unfortunately, they can't fly.
So, instead of making them suicidal, being melancholy just makes them even stupider?

Right then, I'm the cowardly peasant, completely useless, only thing is that I can find if someone is elf or not, but if they are elf, then I die along with the information. Last night I hid behind Eduren, and nothing bad happened, so he's not elf.

I don't exactly trust you though toonyman, if you aren't the duke, we lynch a person, and they die, and you die the next day, because we all think you're an ass. An elf isn't going to volunteer, because it's a risk, they don't want to die, and cut their numbers in half...
Ugh, I've never been much of a mafia figurer kind of person, so don't blame me if this makes absolutely no sense.
