None of them can drown (spirits of fire technically can I think but they vaporize all water several tiles away so...)

Your best option is to cave in the whole area, I think it instantly kills all of them if you collapse an area thats bigger than the whole pit the demons are on. If you dont mind being cheap you could always edit their body temperatures and make them die that way.

This just happens with some types of creatures, they also give cave swallowmen names.

It's the temperature that makes things catch fire. a fireball or even magma are worthless without it, so some materials will catch fire in scorching embark sites if the temp is just high enough.

They wont get upset when they break from training etc. They will however get angry if they fall into chasms.

Umm not unless they fall unconscious on the stairs. At least thats what i've heard. I guess sheriff/mandates can't be the reason for your deaths yet at such a small fort. Neither would be processing fire imp fat or something since you haven't hunted those. Is the temperature somewhere down there maybe abnormally high? It still sounds like a very weird/freak occurrence.

Xes mean an item is worn out, it starts at x and works its way up to XX i think.

() means an item is imported
- is a quality modifier, as well as * and other symbols.

mayday is usually set to 80:50 tiles. the right screenshot is at 80:25 tiles.
The left screenshot almost looks like graphics is set to NO in the init.
