That.  is.  awesome.

The fortress is badass, as well, but where did you find your icon pic?  :o
I've actually forgotten, but I thought it was rather relevant to this particular forum.

Turns out this lowly cheesemaker was also a legendary wrestler and fighter.  Didn't do him much good against the mole I'm afraid.  I'll have to check my migrants more carefully from now on.

Have you seen it if he was legendary before he fought with the demon?
Because wrestling and fighting levels EXTREMLY fast when wrestling with demons, megabeasts, titans and forgotten beasts.
Fast like in, three times wrestling = legendary.

Didn't check, but he wasn't in the military before I sent him to his doom.  The amount of "splatter" is actually disappointingly small because the mole fiends were wrestling everyone to death.  Very rarely they'd toss someone (by very rare, I mean it happened like 10 times) and they'd hit something and go *splat*.  There were other clowns, but they were extremely week.  Usually, they'd get overwhelmed by only 1 or 2 unarmed humans.  Pretty much everyone was killed very slowly by those 3 mole fiends.

Here's a pic I took before they mopped up the last few stragglers.  They seem to be partying in a shop.

That's after probably about 24 hours (in real time).  FPS stayed around 4, and abruptly went up to 10(!) when they had killed all but about 300 or so.  The framerate goes down quite a bit when you look at that particular z-level.

This was all extremely boring to watch.  The moles would usually attack someone on the fringes, and then a bunch of other guys would come and try and help the victim of the attack.  One by one, the humans would succumb to purple blinky death.  After taking down the mob that was attacking it, a lot of the time the mole went into a house and chilled for a bit, throwing a chair or 2.  A groundhog or something would inevitably run in front of the door and lure the mole out, starting the whole cycle over again.  Very rarely some other clowns would come up the shaft.  I don't think any of them even made it outside.

:edit: Wait, the clowns have the CAN_LEARN tag right?  Doesn't that mean that their fighting skills and such increase with use?  If that's the case, killing them attempting to kill them as an adventurer could be a lot of Fun.

Well, as exciting as this all sounds, it's actually about as thrilling as watching paint dry. I'm going to head to bed and resume tomorrow.  Looks like those 3 mole fiends have killed something like 500 of the humans, and don't show any signs of stopping.

:edit: and I'm back

:Edit2: and bed again.  I left it running all day, and we're at around 1500 dead (and 4 fps)  The giant moles are showing no sign of slowing down, despite the fact that one of them has a broken skull.  A dwarven child caught outside the vault was killed in a human home, and another unlucky dwarf came to get him.  A few tiles away from the house he went "OH SHIT MOLE GUY" dropped the child, and ran away.  Another dwarf promptly picked up the child, and put it it back in the house with the demon in it.  Turns out this lowly cheesemaker was also a legendary wrestler and fighter.  Didn't do him much good against the mole I'm afraid.  I'll have to check my migrants more carefully from now on.

Did it have a nasty syndrome, like necrotic blood? That should cause megadeath in the space of a few months.
Naw, it just breathed fire and had a stinger.

Wall them in, dig down to the HFS, and watch the bloodbath.
Working on it, a forgotten beast already got about 10 of them before being overwhelmed.

744
You should unleash the FUN on them. Because the only thing worse than the impending doom of losing their war is having FUN show up in their last town due to some jerkass genius dwarven enginering.
Well there's an aquifer, so I don't really have the patience for magma or clown cars.  Instead, I'm just digging out all 3 soil layers beneath them and I'm going to collapse the whole thing into the aquifer.  I hope the humans are good swimmers.

:edit: actually, on closer examination of the map, it looks like the humans have already done the hard work of aquifer piercing for me.  I may have to dig into the party room.

I counted the number of humans and got

How many is this in terms of typical human populations?  I'm not really too much of a legends nerd so I don't know.

That is one of the most amazing things I have seen in adventure mode.
I'm going to try and embark on it and collapse the entire town.

It took like 5 minutes to load, fps at embark: 12.

That would be nice.

Also, just find a tree and (g) to set it on fire. With them being that tightly packed, there's no doubt that they'll all die horribly within the day.
Thing is, I'd really like to do something more badass like buy a battle axe and cut a path through them.  They're just begging for it.

Save

edit: Hmm, you guys may be right.  I've checked out quite a few of the human towns and they all look like they've been razed.  Something horrible must have happened to them during worldgen.

..........Hm? Oh, sorry....I was lost in a battle royale fantasy involving a human army.

Wow, that is rather strange, maybe the humans got unto a war with somebody and all their neighbouring towns got pillaged and burned down resulting in a mass refugee arrivals.

Check your legends for more info...(Burn it! Burn it all down! Burn it! Burn'em all!)
Hmm, that's a thought.  I just wish I wasn't a fresh adventurer so I could start bashing heads.

What. Happened there?

Are they all peasants? I believe majority of them are the sea-green of the lower classes. It's either a massive influx of immigration, or this is the middle of a war.
I'd say a good 95% of them are.  I can post the save if you'd like.

I've only recently started fooling around in adventure mode, and I decided to stop into a human town.  I hit the button to enter the town, and nothing happens.  I keep hitting it, and about a minute later it loads.  This is what I encounter:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Is this normal?  None of the other settlements seem to have this many people, and it's pretty much unplayable.  Getting around town is like navigating a maze (an obscenely laggy one at that).  I apologize if this is a known issue, but none of my search results turned up anything.  I don't have any mods or anything goofy going on that I can think of.

Ha! I think I remember driving past that a few times and thinking it would be an awesome embark.  Most dwarfy one I've seen so far.
