It's possible with chibi style, but these are pretty cool as it is. The skin on some civvies, though, is kinda... grey.

No idea what's wrong on your side. Music is enabled by default. While good, I think I'll turn it off and play some Resident Evil tracks on the background. :P

Also, get crackin' on the civvies and stuff! It's all brilliant so far! :D

I stopped playing since then (it was 5.02 at the time), and recent versions are incompatible with older savegames, so I'm not too motivated to continue just yet. :P

So wormholes are jump points that randomly appear and open in your systems? Sort of like Antaran attacks in MoO2.

Can't agree more with Moontayle.

Question: Coffins look like  numerical zero (0) while bins look like X. Is this intentional?

That's the way the game represents them, and the reason why some tilesets decorate 0 and X a bit so that they look like those things (X is also the up-down staircase, which complicates things a bit from the graphic standpoint). Same thing happens with the O, used for wall dead-ends. My version of Phoebus' tileset includes a slightly embellished O since the default variant has but a plain one that doesn't quite fit with other wall sections.

Several of the tiles (/ ? ; -) have an incorrect transparency color, the background shows as purple.

Huh, you're right. Weird, since I had taken those characters directly from the Guybrush tileset.

Anyway, it's fixed now.

Here's a personal modification of the tileset, according to my tastes.



Changes:
- Font
- Logs
- Chest
- Bed
- Bars
- Various symbols to match the font (like !, ? and &)
- Shovel thingy next to the trap icon

If anyone wants to use it, remember to convert it to .BMP first. I wonder if I should upload it to the wiki.

I'd keep the graphics mod graphics-only. It's easier to keep compatibility with future versions that way.

I'd make a different mod for the raw tweaks and fixes. Also, the init should only be changed to accomodate to the new graphics, without modifying miscellaneous detals like water depth and window size (beyond the 1280x400 requirement), which are generally a matter of personal preference.

I hope you don't mind the criticism.
