I like it. Strategic thinking plays off. I just took out a player who was stronger than me by using a chokepoint with a +5.5 tile. I'm now camping a jackpot there. Its a great spot. I'm not sure the # 1 guy could get me there.

I find it kind of pathetic that adults take the time to troll 11 year old girls. It doesn't matter how stupid they are.

Total Annihilation

Deus Ex had full voice acting and yet choices weren't limited artificially. If you meet the Smuggler before you meet a character that would normally tell you about him JC will remark about that. All that in the deliciously over-the-top VA the game had to offer. Its true that some main plot characters are immortal(only at times I think - you can kill them later), and that the game treats unconscious people as dead. The whole plot goes wonky if you for example:

Other Games / Re: The prediction of the game industry.

I think the mainstream industry is going nowhere fast.

It concentrates too much on mindless repetition of successful titles and seeking for gimmicks than actual innovation.

Then again innovative design is covered by indie developers, but they are unlikely to make much commercial success and get mimicked by the AAA titles.

General Discussion / Re: Psychic octopus predicts German victory

Octopus just mind controlled the ref. After first half it 2-1 for Germany. It should be 2-2 but an English goal wasn't counted.

Here's a site that shows us how Lady GaGa is an Illuminati mind controlled drone.

I kind of hope they are being serious. Decide for yourself.

I must admit the level did have a Deus Ex feel to it. More so than most parts of DX:IW. I was expecting worse from Deus Ex 3. I hope it comes out on PC so I can play it.

General Discussion / Re: Geert Wilders
« on: June 18, 2010, 09:57:37 am »
Wilders has never stated support for the genocide of Islamic people.  Wheras time and time again Islamic extremist have said they will kill anyone who insults their religion.

Food for thought: nor did Hitler ever state his intent of genocide of the Jewish population. Officially the Jews were just being "relocated". Limiting the laws of a minority based on nationality or religion(two characteristics that are easy to distinguish people by) is generally very bad. History has proven actions like this can lead to genocide.

I think people like Geert are part of the problem. Their mindset only gives fuel to the Islamic fundamentalists that declare war on western civilization. If I were a moderate Dutch Muslim and heard about projects to limit the laws of those with Islamic faith I would reconsider what I thought about my crazy fundamentalist friends calling to take action. Its actually a never ending circle. Extremism triggers extreme anti-extremism which in turn triggers more extremism in defence. :P And its the tolerant moderates that suffer when caught in the crossfire.

Don't worry. It's an unwritten rule that every RPG with character creation has to have a poncy / pretty race to choose from that appeals to all women, children and pussies in the customer base.

Eldar and Dark Eldar are basically space elves so they fill the niche almost perfectly.

Trailers are always cool so it's hard to judge the final product by them.

If they include playable Squats and Witch Hunters. THEN it will be awesome.  ;)

I know I would love to play some Total Annihilation. I tried playing Spring but it was a bit troublesome to get a version and map coherent with everyone else.

My timezone is GMT +1

I highly recommend people who don't know of TA to try this as well. The learning curve is steep but its fun to even watch experienced players duke it out between themselves while cowering in some crater.

I feel a video might be good to show people what its all about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_w6wUTcko8
