Considering they actually have evidence they're doing copyright violation there?

Not to mention the purpose is clear. Piracy.

So yes. They'd have to prove he's doing piracy before suing him. Just like they did with Napster or whatever that was called.

They arent doing copyright violation there. The users are. Not the hosters. There is no law against creating a file sharing site. There is no law against calling it what you want (like piratebay). It doesn't matter if they even encourages it. By LAW there is only the users who makes the copy that are by LAW responsible for crimes.

Besides, these guys got faaar more punishment than serial rapists, child abusers and killers. That only proves how powerful money is and how far the lobbyist has come. Pathetic

Last I heard anything, the swedish case was possibly going to retrial since the judge likely should have recused himself but didn't bother (he's a member of several organizations promoting stronger corporate IP rights legislation, where all the plaintiffs' lawyers are also members).

They tried to make a retrial but failed. (I live in sweden)

Piratebay does it legally too. They just host torrent files.

And you didn't answer if you thought that they deserved what they got.

I support them. Those people are violating copyrights.

LITERALLY.

Edit: By them I mean the guys who are suing and by those I mean the guys who founded piratebay.

What about google? I believe more people use google for illegal stuff than they use piratebay. Come on, lets sue google!

And also, do you seriously really think these 4 guys deserves 1 year prison and that huge amount of money to pay? No ordinary guy can even pay up one hundreth of it...

As you might know, the four people behind the Swedish file sharing site ThePirateBay was judged this month to 30 millions SEK ( 3.73761 million U.S. dollars) and one year in prison. Now Italy is currently working on putting them in a new trial for their countrys sake to judge them to even more prison and money paying.  This is sick... They are just ordinary people creating a file sharing site. Do they deserve this? On the day of the judging, the swedish political party Piratpartiet (Pirate party) increased their members by 20000 in just some days. It is now only 600 members form being the third biggest party in sweden and their only standpoint is to preserve the personal integrity and rework the creative licence stuff so that people can file share.  Appearently, people care about this matter and don't want those people and all file sharers judged like this. Almost everyone file shares. It is almost only big compaines and such who are against it, and they have money. Unfortunately, money has more power than the people...

then you'd have to basically mine whole level holding the fortress up, I'm making supports every 10 or so blocks.

None taken, you're not the only one who likes to watch big cave-ins  8)

It is worth it. It's even worth constructing a fortress like that just to raze it. ^^

I think that a weakness for cave-ins are part of the dwarven maddness that seems to be spreading in here.

I'd say that just considering it is not enough.

I'm now in the process of making a hanging fort inside a giant cave (that I have to carve myself, but whatever ;D) and the fact that I can't build downward ramps/stairs/anything is bloody irritating.

With new map features and caves spanning multiple levels, amount of people that will find this limiting will only increase. Toady, please, do it!

I would be very enlightened to cut of the stone that holds that fortress up! >:)

It't nothing personal, I just cant resist smiling when I see cave-ins in DF and that would be one big nice cave-in. =)

Maybe he's just chilli'n ^^

What is the month end project?

Sorry, but I have to ask... What is 40d10? S:

Some wonderful people are seperately refining the graphics display code (via Battlechamps) for integration in to DF.

d1 - d9 were the first nine iterations of this refinement procedure.

I see, thanks for your clarification.

Btw, is your name refering to paulo mendonca? :D His music is the best.

Why would you need that? Anyone can pull levers, so just set all your levers near your main meeting area and someone will be there in no time.

For me it often takes ages for them to pull. Especially when half of the population starvres or something like that when idlers becomes few. There are some levers you wanna be able to pull instanlty to get the timing right with traps at least for me in the way I play the game, so a controlroom with levers where 1-2 mechanics always idle would be nice. ^^ This would be achieved with the rest room thing the other poster talked about. That was better than my idea.

EDIT: Btw, I think it would be nice if married dwarves and there kids share the same last name. Then you would get a nice family structure.

I think better yet, have "rest rooms" like statue gardens and meeting zones have settings for which dwarves are permitted to use them, much like with workshops. So that you could always have your specialist workers keep close to their working position.

Yeah, that would be awesome.

Back on topic again:  Toady, what format will the descriptions take?  I'm assuming it will be something similar to the artifact descriptions, is this the case?
This is a xDwarf Facex.  It is beginning to show signs of wear.  It is decorated with nose-stubble and encircled with bands of frown lines.  This object menaces with spikes of beard.  On the item is an image of crescents in scar tissue.

xD

My first post here!

I have to say that this game is superb and awesome! Really good work, keep it up! : D

I have a suggestion for a feature. To be able to make a control room-zone or something where mechanics go and idle when they don't have work to do. This could make it easier to control the levers in critical situations. When you are sieged you need to be able to pull the right levers at the right moment, triggering some trap. All too often I face the problem that the mechanic need to run through half the fortress to get to the lever.
