I found out about it from a friend when the wiki was still relatively new. I saw him playing asked him what it was and simply said, "it looks amazing." I have been playing since the 2D version and can't wait for more new features

The old 6x6 or 6x7 was a good method for me, but I always dug out my fortresses in the same way. I don't usually dig that way anymore, but I will leave support and pillars for very large rooms usually. Also I would like it for cave-ins to be back in. They bring such fond memories

Well according to the RAWs most creatures are children until about 12. Then they become adults and can basically do whatever the whole grow old and get weaker thing does not really work for elves and goblins as they do not have a max age. But I do like the idea in general

Alright, I consider myself a really old player, but I haven't done much with HFS since the 3D version came out. I know its pretty bad. But I actively decided to seek out HFS for my latest fort. And I breached it a bit too early. Now the obvious solution of walling up the HFS has been taken and I will deal with them later. But my question is this, are there multiple pits or is it just on complex. I have like this multi-level cave thing in the middle of my nobles' chambers. So if I were to move the planned construction elsewhere do I need to worry about more pits disrupting the architecture?

Try going to your data folder. There should be a folder labeled "objects", delete everything in that folder. Then gen a new world. It should be orc free if you have removed them from your RAWs.

Actually I would imagine based on the elf's title it was a goblin snatched child, and likely by the goblins that the demon was ruler of. So being raised by goblins, assuming my initial premise is correct, the elf could know about the demon and therefore worship it

When I first saw it... it was late 2006 and it was the first ASCII game I had ever seen. I was watching over the shoulder of a friend who was talking about the game and it was then that I knew I had to play it. It was a beautiful moment.
