Not really recent, this happened months ago, and was more of a stroke of luck, but here it goes anyway.
Team Fortress 2, CP_Steel, Pyro. Our team is doing okay, we just captured A, on our way to B. Suddenly, this team of four reds show up just outside our spawn, a Medic, a Soldier, a Huntsman Sniper, and I what I recall to be a Scout. They utterly decimated our attack force, and the only one who's left is me and a really wounded heavy who hasn't revved up yet. Soldier fires a rocket. I'm notorious for failing at airblasting when it's most crucial, but I try it anyway.
Not only does the rocket reflect back, but I had completely failed to realize the medic healing the soldier had activated his kritzkrieg. The crit-rocket flies back straight in the face of the group, killing all three simultaneously, and then earning a kill assist as the earlier mentioned heavy finally revs up and guns down the remaining one.
I literally went "Holy shit."

Heading down the stairs into the first level of the Puppy Cave, a Kobold stood right next to it. I attacked it once. Missed. He then proceeded to OHKO me.

But not fighting and not traveling help. Just pick up a bunch of random junk, do some quick and easy quests and eat until your grotesquely rich.
Hunting quests give noticably less experience than traveling and sleeping tend to give me, though, so I'll probably roll with those in the future. They just can't keep up with the absolutely ludicrous amount of money you receive from Before It's Too Late quests and the like.
I do realize XP is unavoidable, but I just pretty much gained all the EXP I needed to level just from sleeping. And that's just pants-on-head retarded.

I might join you, Poltifar. Pretty much the only thing left to do in Tymas for me is fighting which I'm not especially good at. 
I kind of like building up empires from the beginning for some reason.
Edit: And the PTMC is still there. They're the third on the list, after the Foundation and all it's members.
