Life Advice / Re: Study advice
« on: October 28, 2009, 09:42:00 am »
Does anyone else never study?

I didn't through High School, but I payed dearly for it in College.

As far as making time, it helps to have another person who is willing to steal your power cable to force you to do it, but that can be hard to find.

You may find it easier to, rather than going home, have your materials ready and go somewhere like a lounge/quite restaurant to study.  it's easier to walk away from the PC then it is to not turn the PC on, i find.

Hrm... IIRC, 90% was the highest, but I prefer in the 60-70 range, at least alone.  I'd probably like a higher % if it was with something like fruit or the like, but I've never had the means to test that theory.

Co-workers.... AERRRRGHGHGHGAHAHAHAHFFAGHGHAHGA!

It's bad enough that he's slow, dumb and probably ADHD, but the fucker just stands watching like a twit while I nearly have my arm broken. -_-

Plus, he mumbles and talks so damn softly, even when we are in a PRODUCTION AREA FULL OF VERY LOUD MACHINES AND I AM WEARING FUCKING EARPLUGS!  And he won't even do anything to get my attention either, he just mumbles something, waits 60 seconds, then walks away.

I never would have imagined I'd be missing the lazy, whiny bitch that quit when she was called on taking her 6th break (hint, we get 3) one day.

There is literally no context.  This guy just gets random fragments of text like this to translate.

God, that sucks.  I mean, translation is hard enough as is, but to just get a bit out of a larger body to work with is a silly way to do it.  Plus it implies multiple people are all translating bits of a document.

Suddenly some of those flaky instructions I've seen make more sense.  At least this is some kind of label, rather than a working step.

I'm happy that there is still some cheese left in the house.

Oddly, I'm not pissed about the things I should be ATM.

General Discussion / Re: So apparently, I am hearing impaired
« on: October 26, 2009, 12:55:05 pm »
well, in the hearing-test, they sends sounds through my ears of different frequencies, starting at -10 decibel (wtf, how does that even work), and then increasing by 10, until I heared the sound ever so slightly.

In short, 0 DB is the baseline.  -10 would be 1/10 the volume of this, 10 DB is 10 x the baseline (I may have the ratios wrong, but you get the idea).

A normal test would start at 0DB, but if they suspected an issue, they started at a lower-than-baseline level, probably to ensure they didn't have a bad reference point that was messing up your results.

Meh, I don't drink.

It all tastes like... nasty water-logged wood.

I kinda wish I could drink socially, for the social part, but I could never make myself take more than a sip of anything I've ever tried.

kaki suki desu!

And it works because of fairy-dust and rainbows.  That is all your security clearance will get you.

Now, try to not break the thread while I'm asleep, k? ;)

Yeah, but Sofia+Random has been known lead to impaired judgment, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, Stockholm syndrome, pimples, thread lockage and male pattern baldness in lab rats.

Just wanted to ensure nobody forgot that fact too quickly. ;)

The price of love/fame/lust/obsession/kawaii/desu?

It's bait for a derail.

Resist the urge, do not let the kitty toy with us.  8)

On an unrelated note, I'm happy that my mood-downswing seems to be over; too bad I missed my night game of D&D, but you can't mass-murder trolls every time.

What's the point of this?

Entertainment?

She hasn't been on for the last few days... it worries me.

Um... she was on yesterday.  Plus it's the weekend.  I hear ugly rumors that people do stuff on weekends.

Something like that, yeah.

I'll have to ponder after D&D tonight.

Probably dealing with a group of Nobodies that were separate from Org XIII, set just after or just before the end of KHII.

In the long run, whatever does happen from action will not be as bad as the "what if's" that will haunt you in years to come from in-action.

Excluding shooting, of course. -_-
