No problem, it's pretty much a problem with anything that flies in general, I think the flying pathfinding is a lot more intensive than the regular kind, so the more of them there are the worse it gets.

In my game I've found every flier that flocks in high numbers (Stupid pigeons!) and removed the FLIER tag from them, do that with your geese and laugh when they plummet 100 z levels to the ground :)

(And yes, I would attribute your FPS loss to the flying animals, rather than the ghosts, Pigeons always killed my FPS till I 'got rid' of them, 50 fps to 300 in an instant!)

My only issue with the Genesis mod is that you pretty much get completely wiped out around year 3 if you don't have a multitude of traps set up to handle centaurs, or if you don't already have armor for your dwarves, which, thanks to the depth that lava is normally at, I never do.

it pretty much just happened in a thread quite a while ago, there was no consensus or discussion on it, some guy just referred to the demons as clowns and that was that, people just ended up picking it up and, yeah, like the other guy said, started taking it to lengths it should have never been taken to.

My best guess? he picked clowns because clowns are frightening, I feel like the master of the obvious here, but there's really not much reading into it you can do.

EDIT: One more thing... are trap avoiders immune to menacing spike traps activating at their feet?
Nope, spike traps work great on them. :)

Until pathfinding for flying enemies is fixed, I don't suggest modding in flying civs.

I did not know that there was a problem with flying pathfinding. What is the problem?
Dwarves of your own(or whatever you are playing as) that are able to fly WILL fly, but will then immediately freak out because they are in the air and spam you with cancellations because of dangerous terrain, and until toady implements a fix for this, there's no way around it.

As far as I recall, combat now works in that dwarves will always choose whatever attack has the highest chance of succeeding, be it a shield bash, a kick, a bite, or lopping an enemies head off, so having 2 weapons, as has been stated before in this thread, can give your dwarf more opportune attacks.

i had the same thing, well, kinda, goblins attack me, all riding crocodiles, i train the crocodiles, dwarves get eaten but those crocodiles never killed a single dwarf, dunno why they did that
Those crocodiles are still invaders, that's why, same principal, different scenario. :)

Your baron may eventually succumb to insanity if the tombs upset him that much, but afaik barons and kings(along with their spouses) are the only ones that get negative thoughts from other people having nice things.

Just so you know, when it tells you WHY it's having trouble making a world, you can hit "p" I believe to tell it to ignore any problems, and gen the world anyway.

Advanced world gen > Cavern Openness 100/100, or something along those lines, I do it every world I make, I love open caverns. :)
