The Mole.

As part of the game, players must find the Mole in their midst. The post cards from all over the world act as a teaser and hint that the Mole is a frequent traveller, if the players are able to link the cards to the game.

The start of next year would be great! So would Poland and China... Any kind of card will do, it just needs the text "Greetings from [country]", in print or written.

Right, thanks. I'm going to watch the sailoff from the deck, if you don't mind.
Thorigrim gets to the deck and finds a spot with a view.

Creative Projects / Wanted: International post cards

For a real-life game I'm working on, I'd like all participants to receive a post card from a different country. Most of these are already taken care of, but I'm out of overseas acquaintances and I need at least 2 more cards. So naturally, I thought of you. If you don't mind sending a post card to some random person in Belgium, just reply with your country of residence. I'll then PM you with a destination address.
I have cards from America, Australia, Vietnam, Finland, Namibia, South-Africa and the Netherlands already, so I'd prefer different countries. If I have the luxury of choice, I'll go for the most interesting locations and the more active1 members, so feel free to post more than 2 offers.
This is of course not a charity, I'll reward the senders with a steam game of around $5, or something similar, of their choosing. That should at least pay back the costs.

1Please don't take this personal. I'd prefer to give real-life addresses to people I can trust, more or less.

The apparent lead engineer comes over. "Slow down, have you ever worked on a airship before?"

"Most of my work was on the loading cranes, sometimes the city engines, and the occasional ship if they needed urgent repairs. Never in flight. Sorry I got a little exited, it just looks much better than the rusty old crane engines... You the boss?"

((Didn't expect this to start again, but glad it did ;) ))
Thorgrim grabs a crossbow - in case something is out of hammer range - and heads down to the engineering deck to start spouting questions.
Thorgrim. New engineer. Nice to meet you. What's the pressure on this thing? Where's your safety valves? 'sthat a full 5 thumb inlet? How much coal does it need? What's that tube for?

I don't know if I said this already, but Cogmind wil the most beautiful ASCII game ever in the history of everything.

Near the harbor, I think east of it, was a park where you could attack squirrels.
Some googling yielded this .
That's the one! My own google-fu proved too weak... Thanks!

Once again I come to you for help, oh wise ones.

This time I'm looking for a browser game - a top-down, turn-based rpg. I know there are thousands of those, and I don't remember much, but you guys are damn near wizards if this thread is anything to judge by. Anyway, here are the details I remember: You were a young wizard or an apprentice of sorts. When you left the starting area, you could go in a few different directions immediately. North was a battlefield, with a forest a bit further. There were skeletons (I think) on the battlefield, and something too strong for young low-level me in the forest. South was a harbor area. Near the harbor, I think east of it, was a park where you could attack squirrels.

That's about what I remember. I'm afraid it's not much, but you never know.

Flavor.

I was thinking you meant something like:

--Will you take me with you -eeeehawww--?
--I e-eeehaww promiise not to get in the way or be really really annoying-- [lies]!

    Yes
    No

And upon answering no you get some one liner and the question is repeated.

It's funny, because I'll sometimes actually save right before conversations with dialogue options like this, in case I guess the right one by accident. It can be pretty funny sometimes to pick the stupid option and see how they wrote it to keep you from actually choosing it. I remember playing a game where the final boss offers to let you join him at the end, and if you pick "yes" it just gives you a game over. I found it hilarious.

Wasn't this also in one of the Saints Rows?

Speaking of guns, on the rare occasion I play an FPS I'll go as far as possible using only the default starting weapon, usually by virtue of scoring headshots against nearly every enemy. The pistol is eventually rendered entirely useless, and only then do I switch to the alternatives.

On the plus side, I have a ton of ammo for those guns by the time I get there.
I have a similar habit but it's more a case of saving more powerful/effective weapons for more difficult enemies/areas, even though half the time I finish the mission and they vanish anyway.
I have this with almost any consumable that's not easily obtainable. Even in games like the Witcher, where you can brew more, I don't like using oils or potions before a fight just in case I'd need them later. This was terrible in Rage, where I saved every BFG bullet I could find for the final boss fight, only to find that the "boss fight" was way easier than the rest of the game.

... I almost always mute the game. No sounds, no music.
I tend to listen to podcasts while playing but rarely with the game absolutely silent.
I often replace the background music (as in, turn it off and play something else). Mostly rock or Radio Nostalgia, depending on game and mood.

Hack, Slash, Loot is the worst game I've ever played. Consider this my recommendation.
I rather liked that actually.
How about Enviro-bear 2010? It's only paid (99 cents) for smartphones.

I usually play SWAT 4 as pacifist. Only tasers, stun grenades, the pepper ball gun, and lots of intimidating shouts. It's easier than most of the challenges on here I guess, but lots of fun. Rules are simple really, if anyone - swat, suspect, or civilian - gets wounded, the mission fails.
Playing SWAT 4 on Professional, that's the only way to win and progress to the next level. You have to do everything perfect. If you do everything else exactly the way you're supposed to you can afford to let two of your squaddies die (which is inevitable) if you haven't been wounded.

Well, I'm at the Diamond Centre level with straight 100's now. Restarted levels every time I did something wrong. Should check which difficulty I'm playing, I honestly don't know.
And I'm not going to let my squadmates get hit. Unless it's scripted.
