Did some updates as well.
- Added 1000 dollars
- Made body a bit less terrible (at the expense of a spirit point)
- Added knife and gun, pending GM approval
- Changed description of style. Is this more along the lines of what you mean by style?

Congratulations Japa!

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take a look at my sheet on monday.

Kestrel will answer your questions in the order they have been asked.

1: Kestrel is what is commonly referred to as a seer or a mystic. I am a servant of secrecy itself; the harder you try to hide something, the easier it is for Kestrel to find it out.

2: Mr. Claus, like many magical employers, prefer to hire and provide training for rookies, rather than deal with skilled and experienced mages. Significant amounts of supernatural knowlege tends to come with large egos, dark secrets, and pre-existing loyalties. We would rather put up with some failure until you get caught up to speed than deal with any of the aforementioned baggage and shit.

3: The job will be challenging, rewarding, and an entirely new experience for you. You and your small team of 4-6 other operatives will be periodically deployed to various locations where you will protect what Mr. Claus needs protected, Destroy what Mr. Claus needs destroyed, and occasionally perform contracted work of a similar nature for other clients. Most danger is negligible, as Polar Industries will do its best to reverse any injury or death inured by its operatives.

4: Kestrel spends a huge chunk of his time viewing the world from perspectives other than the point of his head where his eye is located: Vaults deep beneath the sea, offices of agencies even those of the know about supernatural affairs have never heard of, the heads of those who would scheme against Kestrel and his allies (and of those I would scheme against myself), places that have ceased to be or have yet to come, and the bedrooms, bathrooms, and locker rooms of Hollywood Starlets. Very little of what I do that is important is done from the viewpoint of Kestrel Harrison, and this in part leads me to slip into the third person quite often. If it bugs you, just call me out and I'll try to stop for awhile.

Hello,

As I'm a bit curious at what you have to offer, I'll be waiting for you. But I won't accept the job until I see what it is.
As for the third person thing, it doesn't really bother me. For that money, Jacob would talk that way himself.

With kind regards,
Jacob Fletcher
Senior Technician
Anglo Belgian Corporation

Charsheet is coming up. http://eaglev.wikidot.com/jacob-fletcher

I'd like a spell (or 2, if hellburst is a no-go), a maneuver, a feature (something mechanical, preferably), and two permanent rituals.
Please let me know if I did anything wrong.

And all I got was some chocolate :'(

After running out of fuel on return from Mun, Jeb spent six days orbiting Kerbin, using a combination of jetpack-assisted deceleration and atmospheric braking to enable him to return to the surface of his home planet with the precious samples he'd recovered. Finally, his vessel's orbit skimmed low enough for the drag forces to slow him to a point where proper re-entry was possible.

Unfortunately, Kerbal parachutes are hard-wired to deploy only at 500m above sea level, which does not adequately slow decent when your enforced landing zone is a 3km mountain. At least the explosion means that we don't have to worry about retrieving the pilot craft.

Actually parachutes open at 500m above ground level on Kerbin.
And speeding up time will make them rip, maybe that's what happened?

I guess this will probably run in PST-evenings? If so, I won't be applying, it'd mean about 4am over here.
Otherwise, I'll get a character up as soon as I can. Thinking Material or Scribe as of now.

Tokyo Jungle? It's the closest thing I can find.

Taming dogs is by throwing bones at them. I think it's lowercase 't'. You can get all key bindings with '?'.

Also, the "username too short" error should be fixed.

You can't do much with the corpses. About eating corpses, stick to normal animals for the time being. Mushrooms mostly don't hurt too much, but they're Another Thing That Could Go Wrong if you teleport/polymorph at the wrong time. You should find enough 'normal' food (dead animals and fruit) to keep you going for a while. I'd start eating other stuff only if it's to avoid starving.

Good to know, your polymorphed form has a different food stat than your regular self, so feeding while polymorphed won't make you less hungry when not polymorphed.

Let's see...
didnt want to create a new IVAN thread... so posting here. just stumbled on this. Temple of Atnam forums are buggy. tried registering and getting 'username is too short'
I'll ask Capristo, the resident webmaster, to take a look. He's on a long vacation at the moment though.

im kind of lost. there is a wiki, but it doesn't give alot of details. i figure keys to the game is to raise stats. I see someone on here says dont raise your max hp. i saw on attnam that you should try to get injured to heal and raise your hp. that is about the only thing i was able to raise. doesn't look like you can grind, cause i dont see monsters respawn.
There are certain monsters that spawn during the game. You'll find a lot of one sort of them in UT3. Raising max hp is not a bad thing on its own, however it raises the 'danger level'. Kind of like the AI in left 4 dead, the game will throw harder stuff at you if you are doing well. Health is a parameter that seems to be very important in that calculation, so some say the risk outweighs the benefit, especially on higher health levels. Raising stats is important, though there are many other ways to get better.

1. any tips on what to do? Im lost? anyway to grind up stats some? does the weapon type matter? I was trying to stick with 1 type so i can train up my skills. not sure if its safe to go burdened with heavy armor to train strength.
What to do basically comes down to keep trying. I can get about 7-8 dungeons far on most runs without any grinding, and I'm among the worst long-time players. Training stats: health by getting hurt, leg/arm strength by overtaxing them, agility by running (press 'u' to toggle, don't get too tired), dexterity by doing anything that requires hands (even zapping wands). Intelligence and wisdom by reading, praying, talking, ... Weapons: some are more accurate, some do more damage. Some have more chance to crit or chop off limbs. Burdened is not too bad, it'll lower your dodge and make you slower I think, but it'll indeed train leg strength. For a good start: don't attack hedgehogs with bare hands. Don't kick your dog. Grab the lantern. Find a weapon that is not a balsa spear. If you can, start praying. And run from anything that seems too strong.

2. also, i inevitibly end up polymorphing and teleporting randomly. i cant figure out why? i dont see a reference to secret intrinsics on items. is this from something i eat? I cant tell form wiki what may not be safe to eat.
3. a tip in the wiki says eat mushrooms or something to get levitate. ok. cant figure out what its good for.floating above traps? however,  i inevitibly polymorph and lose it.
You contracted polymorphitis and teleportitis. Probably from the mushrooms. Will end in a while, though so will the levitation effect. It's much better if you can get a belt of levitation. The main use is dodging traps, yes, but I believe it also makes you harder to hit, not sure. It does make you unable to kick doors though.

4. i saw a lets play video and it said that running is good for trianing stats. how do i go into 'run mode'. i got moved into once when i got scared.
Run mode toggles with 'u'. Panic = autorun and you can't toggle it off until you calm down. Running trains agi, but so does walking (albeit much slower) and running costs more food.

5. can you cast spells? I see books to read. wiki says to read books to train some stats. so i read them then they dissappear
The books are bibles for seperate gods. You will be able to pray ('p') to the gods you know (read about, or saw an altar). Be careful: reading books about good gods will decrease your popularity with the evil ones and vice versa. Praying to an angry go is not a good idea. Try 'o'ffering them something to make them happy again (and anger the others a bit)

6. guide says to grind in town to talk to certain people to get 'scitalk' which trains up int and/or wisdom (cant remember). gave some tips on this. said i can get a couple of points. not sure what int/wis is used for. i dont see an ability to cast spells.
Certain scrolls change the material of your items. They get very important later in the game, but you can only change to the best materials with high int. Also it'll allow you to polymorph into stronger things. Wis will get you more popular with the gods.

Most of this is from own experience, so there are some things I'm not 100% sure about. But if you need anything else, be sure to ask.

Well, Blue repelling Yellow would have the exact same effect as Yellow repelling Blue. Unless you're dropping Action = Reaction, in which case you wouldn't have to worry about perpetual motion since it might very well exist in your rules of physics. But if you're keeping A=R, I suggest using "studs attract slots (and vice versa), studs repel studs, slots repel slots" or something along those lines. It would also make the 'gravity' of higher stacks stronger, though the difference would be much larger at close range. You could then add that different colors have stronger or weaker forces on each other, or so, which might make large simulations more vivid, though I'm not sure.

Did I mention I like this?
