An Elf town should be one giant tree with huge branches up above where all the elves live.

You embark there, MINE OUT THE TREE, and run.

They mean that those civilizations are hostile.

Not sure how it affects Adventurer mode.

Also, because of a bug, if you embark on a hostile location, they all become instantly friendly, instead of trying to murder your Dwarves instantly.

that made me so sad when i found out.

when i embarked with 5 axedwarves and two miners...

It's best to embark with 7 miners, and mine out the entire first floor of a tower, watch it smash to the ground and kill and maim whoever's inside.

Now, I added in a few types of differently colored Adamantine.

They won't show up in the stocks menu at all, but other than that they function perfectly.  They don't share a common name or MATGLOSS_STONE tag.

What could be causing that?

my productivity took a bit of a dip when i found how well 40d11 works over RDP.. 

I haven't done real work at my job in like, 2 months.

On my first fort, I didn't know that being Legendary made you work faster, I thought it only improved the quality of the goods.

So I set my mason to repeatedly make rock doors.

Pretty soon I had about 450 rock doors without noticing. =|

Got it working, just curious about the METAL_PREF tag.

Giving it to a civ will automatically make them use Adamantine?  How do I know they won't go for steel or iron instead?  I assume if they have access to it, they'll be able to use it?

You have METAL:BLOODROBE as part of the product.

Is BLOODROBE a type of metal you've modded in?  If not, then that wouldn't work.

I have a bunch of entries such as
[MATGLOSS_STONE:ADAMANTINE2]
[NAME:raw adamantine][COLOR:3:7:1][TILE:156]
[SEDIMENTARY]
[METAL_ORE:ADAMANTINE]
[VALUE:250]

In matgloss_stone_layer.txt.

Am I doing something wrong here?  The other entries are basically the same, except for the numbers and tags such as [IGNEOUS_INTRUSIVE].

So far, I succeeded in changing all stone layers except Obsidian and Bauxite to Adamantine.  However, when it's mined, it gives me a generic stone named Adamantine.

How do I make it give me the actual Adamantine? That you can extract strands from and such.

Would it work if I had one type of Adamantine set to [DEEP], and another set as the generic rock layer?  Both could yield raw Adamantine upon being mined, right?  There would be no problem with that?

I would just delete all the other rock types?
