it's possible to gen worlds with no other civs. I've had one where the only civs were 7 dwarven ones

most likely one of the merchants took his sweet time getting there. Happened to me once, where a single wagon took a month to get to the Depot and as soon as he got there they left.

Must have been all the metal and stone I ordered...

it was a single bolt! it would be less making a pincushion out of them and more the marksdwarves running off to find more ammo, or worse, attempt to bludgeon the dragon to death.

single masterwork defacement is one of the largest. Had a legendary weaponsmith almost kill himself when I melted one of his masterwork iron bolts down. The horror!

when you live in trees, you can't really forge anything. They need something to fight with or every Elven war would devolve quickly into slapping sessions

Elves are usless hippies. So are enviormentalist IRL. The dwarves taking over elves is good for all us players(my wood industry will not be drawn back by some tree huggers!)

useless? they brought me a breeding pair of jaguars!

I fully intend on having fleets of war jaguars roaming the fields outside my fort!

I recently added orcs to my game since I wasn't satisfied with the "threat" that gobbos provided. Needlessly to say, my first few forts were smashed to pieces.

My latest fort has a pressure-activated retracting bridge over a pool of water. When the first siege came, it wasn't ready yet. The pit's next to a brook and I hadn't enclosed the area yet, just built the 3 walls to put pressure plates on. So orcs would come barreling up, onto the bridge, it'd give way and they'd fall. Took no damage, so they got back up again while the rest just hung around at the ledge, watching them. Well sometimes a leader would fall. And then the whole horde would leave the bridge entrance and flood down to the pit. They'd get their act together and then come barreling back up again, and then fall. All the meanwhile, I am cackling.

I'd say they went at it like this for a good month, until eventually one or two of quicker ones made across or went flying into my open doorway when the bridge fell. They then decimated my very green military. Unsatisfied, I savescummed.

Took me 3 or 4 reloads to get past that siege. I eventually resorted to making some crossbows and bolts, equipping my wrestlers with them and letting them go to town on the ones that hadn't fallen into the now completed pit.

On the plus side, the assembly is now complete, and thins out their numbers very nicely. Nothing like dropping a bunch of orcs into a cistern to let them drown. I'm just disappointed in how poorly water pushes things.

i don't mean there were a lot of rejects. There were only 9 or so rejects and then it just chugged along slowly for the rest of the gen.

Legends took a good 10-15 minutes. Went to year 300 and the only civ left were dwarves and there was 7 of them. I found that odd since I added Orcs and they're tough bastards.

I've never had many rejects jacking up the number of volcanos.  I think my last world was 6 rejects.

I just tried this for kicks and dear lord is it taking a long time to gen.

take a look at the red building with the q menu and a white one and see if there's any notable differences. you're venturing into uncharted territory here!
