Breaks-the-Chain hisses in pain and surprise.

"So! A bit of fire left after all, eh? But you stand against a Lord of Life!"

Swing and miss at the Hound Shadow (11 to hit)

"Half hour by slow bug," Gambatta points out.

"Anyway, doesn't this place keep surprising! First robolife, now natives! Or cannibal shipwrecks. Either way, bet the food'll be interesting!"

Help haul us to shore if someone shoots another filament line.

I really don't like spending an action healing while at over half health. Feels complacent.

I'm also worried that the dwarf potioned Dorren rather than himself. If he's useful as a potion monkey, why not potion himself and THEN Dorren? Does he want to go down, knowing Dorren has some kind of spell that takes advantage of that? Did he only bring the one consumable? Did he assume Sessha could burst through his HP pool with or without a potion's worth of healing? Does Dorren only need one more round?

I'd actually like to go bold and revive Trence, healmore Trence. I don't know if that will double our damage output, but it's probably close, and if he could cast that spell every round there'd be no need to do anything but.

I'm willing to concede that this is a risky play, but I don't think Sessha trying to healtank against a Magister Arcane is particularly safe either.

"Gyahaha! Looks like we're going for a ride!"

Try to figure out how the debris is anchored to the shell. Otherwise, enjoy the ride!

General Discussion / Re: I like anime, do you like anime?

Unrelated to gore, I've started reading a manga called Kingdom. Half of it is basically standard shonen, but there's enough politics and character wrangling to make it interesting beyond what the main dude's gonna punch. It's also just really well done.

The starting scenario is two orphans want to become great generals in ancient China. Then they get an opening, which quickly escalates.

Breaks-the-Chain lunged almost immediately, bringing his greatsword down on one of the pesky Shadows. He viewed this as more of a pest hunt than a battle, and would be pleasantly surprised if they stood and fought instead of scampering further into the depths.

What about

Trence -> Power Claw! -> Troubador
Willis -> Shoot! -> Troubadour (or Dorren)
Sessha -> Dagger Throw -> Troubadour (or Dorren)
Sessha -> Backstab -> Dorren
Vishy -> Slash -> Dorren

I don't seem to have syv's penchant for devious schemes, but if we all sackbeat the troubadour and then resume sackbeating Dorren things should work out, right?

That's devious but will armorall help vs lightning damage each round? They're probably weak to it to boot.

Muffins spends a long while muttering to herself, shifting between squinting (insofar as jet-black lobster eyes can squint) at something in her claws, tapping on an abacus, and scribbling on a wax tablet. Finally she waves her claws in the air as though counting, before nodding, clearing her throat, and abruptly screaming "I CHOOSE BEAR!"

Play both to woods/bear:

51, Angelic Bloodline (2)
Create a holy bloodline, blessing a specified or unspecified unit as the progenitor of this line. Designate angelic traits, such as unnatural beauty or increased intelligence, which become genetic. Angelic Bloodlines occasionally create neutral heros and very rarely create archvillians.

34, Wandering Swordsman (3)
An unspecified power level two neutral wandering swordsman begins wandering the region. Their skill with the blade is unparalleled. They are innately good and will combat evil when they encounter it, but will not seek it out without reason. Gain 10 points to your score for every victorious encounter against a hostile unit.

There is a static field in effect, dealing minor damage to every creature upon start of turn.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

This is gonna one-shot those bubbles. We need to down the Troubadour if that will stop the Heroism effect from kicking in.

"Blegh, might be a good time to call it. We appear to be gathering more injuries than treasures."

He glances over everyone else almost... hungrily.

"Say, uh... anyone got more blood than they need? I have a medical condition, you see..."

Head back to boat, leave if everyone else does.

Sessha: Flurry of darts twice.  She's tired, and I think the debuffs will help more than any of her spells.
Willis: Meteor Strike.
Vishy: Heaven Slash... Dorren.  We don't have the raw DPS to take him down, but Vishy won't last very long, and debuffs on Dorren are more valuable than on the robot, who will hopefully die very soon to a backstab.
Trence: Chomp! Dorren.  As above, because chomp seems to be basically a physical version of poison, with a returning save.

+1

Somewhat reluctantly, as I'm highly tempted to take down the troubadour first... but Dorren is definitely a bigger, tougher target who's going to do way worse things (like double the troubadour's buffs).

Hm. A static location is kinda risky, but trying to contain ourselves to just our ship would be limiting.

"Hey good job catching that thing, so what we doing now?"
"Opening a present, apparently."

Give a shipping container a few bat-thwacks, and otherwise experiment with trying to damage or craft the material into something else.

Other Games / Re: Total War: Warhammer! Now with 2! And 3!
« on: April 13, 2022, 06:19:32 pm »
And I think a lot of people aren't really going to care until ME comes out. (I know I won't.)

This for me. No worldscape means no buy, and if waiting for one means there will be percentages off the price... Well that's a nice bonus.
Likewise. I'm interested in 3, but after missing the preorder bonus there's been no point until the big map comes through.

I enjoy Warhammer III a ton, but it definitely suffers from the CKIII issue of being a good game with a better foundation than its predecessor, but following up another game that has 6 years of content and I've played hundreds of hours in.
Total War at least has the advantage of not needing to wait for mods. I preordered the fancy edition of CK3 and have barely touched it because the available fantasy mods weren't very far along.
