Agreed.
However, if I can be fortunate enough to get him to go into a rage, I have a plan..
..You see, there are certain dwarves in the Genesis Mod-That I'm using-That will allow for me to actually web the cage-traps I plan on putting in front of the wall in front of his Statue.
This will have to be done *after* the wall is deconstructed, but should actually allow for me to capture the now-enraged child, and release him upon my foes, as an angry, bearded, beacon of destruction.

New Chamber, New Fortress.
The chamber is 1x1, 2 cats, 1 child, no bed, no table, no chair. But the walls are made out of Exceptional Statues, and he's getting high-quality food.

I'm thinking that maybe what you'd want is some timed repeaters for that.
And by 'timed,' I mean it does a double-cycle, waits for 100, then does it again.
So the first time, it would just go 'On.'
Then the second time it 'Off, On.'
And then continuously go 'Off, on.' for every 100.
That would work, correct? That would also be as fast as you could possibly do it.

I think what we really need to do is average the amount of time the water speed clocks in for about ten tries, take that, convert it to Z-levels, and then take however fast the Dwarf falls, compare the two, and place the water lower then the dwarf accordingly. Pretty much, he falls into the water and should stay with it just long enough to pass through the magma/survive the cave-in.

Actually, I know what this would do.
First, it would bomb your FPS from all the Gobbo pathing Errors.
Then it would slow down goblins (theoretically) down to about .5x speed. Possibly even stop them completely.
Due to the Goblin Pathing style of 'I wanna get there in the shortest possible time,' they'll go for the door when it's open. Flip the switch, and they'll stop for about one turn to re-path; only to discover the door's open again. So they'll path there. But before they can move, it closes, and they have to re-path. Rins&Repeat.

Here's my idea:

Training room in the center.
All around it, the death-chambers, where their loved ones are killed before their very eyes.
Above it, the magma-dripper.
Possibly below it(With a hatch to guard it,) a FB-Syndrom Room.(With the FB being guarded by channels, so that only his Deadly Rot Dust can effect the Soldiers, and the Soldiers can't kill him.)

Yeah, see..
If it worked like an ACTUAL Lava-Lamp, it would also mean somehow making Magma create gigantic bubbles.
And that would have made me 10x more interested.
