very quick update, I just want to say that I got the game running, and I managed to dig into the fortress without any losses so far.  I will be moving down the center of the mountain, with the temporary entrance at the starting z level of the wagon  ;D.  More updates later, this is looking good.

Sorry guys, I kind of drifted off DF a couple of weeks ago, and completely forgot to cancel all of my succession game turns. Honestly, I only remembered a few moments ago. Really sorry, I might take a turn when I get back into the game again.

Sorry again!

Yes, I'm secretly trying to brainwash you all by putting as many ''sorry''s into one post as I can fit.

Aww, well that's alright with us though I think.  We'll just go to the next on the list.  Just tell us if you want to be put back on the list somewhere  :).

The noble from boatmurdered comes to mind.  The one demanding the production of mini-forges, and the denial of exporting mini-forges.

You can go ahead and generate a new area, that would be fine  ;).

I'm defiantly still following this game.  Can't wait to see how it goes.  ;D

A lot of video games have this effect. After playing too much Team fortress 2, I would check to make people are not trying to stab me, and in other video games I would shoot teammates in order to spy check.

As for DF I sometimes just look at architecture with more respect, same for farming.

That sounds awesome  :o.  I sadly have not heard of this before, but I think I would be up for it.  Sounds fun :D.

1st Granite, 41, early spring!
Spring has Arrived!

Ahhh... It feels good to finally be able to stop leading a fortress and start getting busy finishing the smoothing and engraving of the entire fortress.

My ending fortress wealth:

7th Obsidion, 40, Late Winter,

Another strange mood, one of our working stiffs is having a fey mood.  Lucky for me he's claimed a clothiers workshop, and is off looking for items.  If I'm lucky this will result in a new artifact.  Mysterious construction has began! And from what I've seen from passing by his little shop and peeking over his shoulder, it's looking like it might be fairly interesting...

And Varkarrus passed another mandate, this times its a ban on the export of trifle pewter items.  Oh God why!  We'll never make it another year if we can't export all of the trifle pewter items that we don't...have...
Well its a good thing that I can be certain Varkarrus will be pleased by a mandate deadline being met in a few months.

Another success!

I'm disgusted!  When I first saw him walking proudly off with a rope, I was thinking of what I could possibly need an artifact rope for, but now it's starting to look like it belongs in the jail.  Right now I don't have an opinion of what I should do with it so I'll just leave it downstairs for now.  I hope nobody examines it to carefully  :P

My takeover worked, holy shit. I'll get an updated list soon.

Your still our trader too, and doing very well.  No serious issues have occurred yet, I'm trying to make sure everything is ready for a siege.  Oh yeah,  I forgot to say that our ballista has been up for awhile, but I don't know how effective it will be  :P especially since all of the ammo is in the basement, even though I designated a ballista ammo stockpile right beside it, and told them to take from the stockpiles the ammo is currently in.  Ah well.

We have a very good zoo going on, and a platinum statue in the middle giving happy thoughts.

28th Sandstone, 40, Mid-Autumn,

More possessed...
This one isn't looking too good :P He's not claiming any shops, just slacking off in the meeting room... I'll see what I can do about this, but in the meantime I have some more pressing matters at hand.  Like keeping my metal workers in line, making sure my chefs are cooking up legendary meals, and finishing work on the jail which requires two more iron chains.  I located the jail in the basement, across the hallway from the catacombs.  Hopefully that will give all of our troublemakers something to think about, lucky for us though, we don't have any.  Actually we don't even have a fortress guard yet. But that's alright because I have some peasants who could do with some patrolling if we need it.
Well I guess I'd better get back to engraving our downstairs hallway then,  I'll jot down some more notes as they come to me.

13th Moonstone, 40, Early Winter,
Right as I was finishing up for the day, checking up on my workers, and getting ready to head to my nice little room, I found the possessed leather worker, just as he fell to the floor and began moping about, stricken by melancholy... :(  My prayers to to the god Bërûl go out to him.

1st Opal, 40, Mid-Winter,
Another ambush, they chased our potash maker all over the map before our army caught up and slaughtered them.  4 more caged gobins!  Too the zoo!

'Varkarrus' has become the first Mayor!
and the fortress guard has been created.  ;D

13th, Opal, 40, Mid-Winter,

What's this?  Varkarrus is now forcing a mandate upon us... and it's not like one of the "Don't export lavender soap" kind of mandate either, he want's more pickaxes.  That's actually pretty mild though, and I think we could use with three more pickaxes anyways, it will however mean the delay of the constraints I was planning on making for the jail, which we now need (There are no criminals but we have a population of 50).

Oh yeah, and he also wants a better room, so I sent off the masons to make multiple weapon and armor racks for him, and have expanded his room a bit.

3rd Obsidian, 40, Late Winter,
Marks the death of our leather worker Shorast Atheltad.  I already made a coffin for him in the catacombs, I'm just glad that he didn't die in the party room, that could have been bad.

Is Marko still cooking away in the kitchens? (snickers evily)

Yep, I just had him make some more food, right now he's "Preparing Fine Meal"

I have a feeling this is a fortress that will be known for it's unusual amount of hamsters as it seems to be dominate wildlife...

yeah, I qued up lots of furniture so all the rooms can be furnished, and something to keep the mason's busy... sorry about that  ::)

;) It's fine, It just surprised me.  I assigned all of the rooms to be furnished with the coffers, so that should be taken care of.

4th Galena, 40, late summer,
I took the liberty to going down to our food stockpile and seeing what kinds of food we have when I found this dish.  It seems to be very popular with the others, although I'm not too sure about it...

Now It's looking like my cooks are getting clever? or maybe they are just trying to be funny...

Remind me to test these and see if they are actually biscuits.

26th of Galena, 40 late summer,
I've made sure all soldiers are wearing armor, and are now being given the weapons.

16th, Limestone, 40, Early Autum.

I find platinum, and am getting ready to make a statue of me, when a human caravan arrives!  Seconds later our professional hamster killing hunter shouts across the valley at me, informing me of an ambush! Curse them!
Well  hope he makes it  :-\

And he was just about to slay three more hamsters for dinner too  :'(

As soon as the goblins began to move across the river, my soldiers eqipped with shiny new weapons, were more than eager to get into battle.  While still being set on "stand down" these champions rushed though the main entrance, burst out into the sun, ran down the hill and completely slaughtered the goblins without taking even a scratch.
