Normally, like I said, I use mud/granite. And yeah, use granite on a tile you can't convert, mine it, then you can unmud it.

I concur. Of course, you don't get spider silk, but you do get indoor tree growth!

...At least they shouldn't! there's HUNDREDS of ways to kill em!
(But yes, they can, if you can keep em alive that long.)

No longer necessary as of .32a I rename my region folders so that it's easier to keep track of them.
Of course, I am ASSuming this is his problem. 'cause I been through it. Get a good fort started at work (um, HYPOTHETICALLY, of course) and take it home!
I guess I could always rar em and email em to myself, huh.
I've done this. The folder is marked as READ-ONLY. rclick the save folder, uncheck READ-ONLY, and tell it to assign the attribute change to all subfolders and files.
If the folder is not initially marked as READ-ONLY, mark it as such, apply, then unmark it.
Incidentally, this gave me a great way to keep my backups organized, I just set a folder (like a virgin world) to READ-ONLY, then the game won't recognize it and I can't play it, so it stays as is. When I want to play it, I either copy it and unmark the readonly or juts unmark the readonly attribute.
I have seen this A LOT, ONLY on XP Pro (I only have played on 2kpro and XPpro). It seems to happen when another application steals focus (which XP is NOTORIOUS for).
I just wish this was a togglable option, then NOBODY would know I was playing at work!
I've seen it with the old Jan 18 version, and both the new version and the patched version.
type

this will compare files byte for byte.
and I use photoshop personally. ms paint is a pos. not that everyone has access to photoshop, though... you could send me the files, i can let you know, too.
Magenta is used as 'transparent': will be filled with the background color. Anything else will be colored and displayed.
Check your magenta and make sure it is SOLID and 255/0/255. If ONE pixel is, say, 254/1/255, although visually it will appear magenta, it is not 255/0/255 so it will NOT be used as a mask, and instead used as image.
Edit: OR it could be an 8, 16, 32, or 48 bit BMP (can they be CMYK? actually i don't think so.) It MUST be a 24-bit RGB BMP

However, if there are more Vista-related issues, I would be interested to know. I will have to upgrade eventually =/
