The skinless robot torso gives me the idea that Gentleman might have come here for "repairs" already, but I don't recall exactly what obstacles before the two passwords it took us to get here. I'm assuming Gentleman would have decided the giant occuloid was "unsafe until proper methods of neutralization were acquired".

Maybe kids will also play with toys to train their dexterity/ smarts/ etc depending on toy and have a preference for a certain toy type?
Will dwarves be temporarily claiming or buying the instruments and such they desire/require for playing at a party?
Music at a meetingplace party, will give additional happythought (dep. on quality of music) layer?
Yeah, we've wanted kids to play with toys forever, but never found the time.  Still not sure we will, he he he, but certainly having a kid bring a toy to a party would be a start.

I haven't planned out specifically how music will work.  I'm not guaranteed to even get to it, but I imagine they'll just be able to claim an instrument if there's one sitting around, as there's no point wallowing in the economy for now.  I put in some invisible skills for music a while ago, so the playing of the music would very likely have an impact on all of the party-goers.

Is there point in wallowing in the economy now? Will time be found soon for toys?

Somehow, I think a better question to ask would be; do we have any composers at Bay12?

Well, I'm really running out of options for skin removal; it appears my knowledge is just not up to that particular task.

I run into the arena at the last minute, and preform a sketchy bow before the match begins.

I'd say just ignore that whole mess for now and look/go down the ladder to the right.

Well...alright. I guess the next step is... what could I ask that doesn't make a judgment or can be interpreted as a ploy to change her mind? What questions can only be seen as an invitation to talk, rather than trying to pry out answers she would prefer to keep hidden. I'm still not sure how to word it right, but there tends be a lot of "careful diplomacy" when we're still at the just talking stage.

"Distract herself" isn't as bad as suicide, but is still a rather bad thing for her to do, since the more she does it the more unhappy she actually becomes.
You're... posting to get sympathy so you can parrot the sympathy to your mother?
Yeah, I have spoken with her at least a couple hundred times about our lives and times, and it tends to end in her crying, becoming angry with me, or phasing out literally everything except her chosen distraction. One of the main topics that has her angry is my attempts to get her to sleep for more than 2 hours a night. Although, she doesn't have any problem taking food and water when she's miserable.

Bob Marley, man.
Could you tell me how that applies here? Not caring tends to cause collapses in the life around here.

I'm posting here for my mother, as she is extremely sad about everything and many things right now. She left the house focused on the thing that I am too metaphorically heartless to offer her any of the companionship kinds she hoped for when raising kids, along with the fact that I'm ridiculously abrasive. Since my sister has been away from the house more often than not, and offers a similar sociopathic relationship anyway, I think that, tonight, Mom is on her last vestiges of sanity. Luckily, she's the sort that will delve into some kind of pointless, degrading distraction (although a certain one is almost guaranteed) rather than attempting suicide.
I'm going to see if I can mimic any hearty responses here, but I'm certain her internet paranoia will cause trouble if she learns people on the internet know anything about her, starting with her existence.

There happens to be another sandstorm, and sadly; neither of my opponents so far have let themselves lose skin in something like that. Perhaps that will be my power goal for this match, and next match. I must insure that there is no more skin by the time the match ends. Hm, I wonder if I could put together some cleaning spells.

I'll just leave this here.
Beautiful.
Indeed. Thanks for that, Vector.
Indeed, indeed.
EDIT:  ...I disagree with some points he makes though.  He rails about how stupid it is to prove the obvious.  Well, a lot of obvious things aren't true, and if you don't have the correct tools, you can't prove the non-obvious.

Also, it's really annoying not having a common language to talk about stuff with other people.  Artists have common language for things like "vanishing points", after all.
He's talking about terminology glut and intuition-killing proofs.  It's very important to be rigorous, but there's a certain kind of rigorous that really isn't needed.  Mathematicians basically never do two-column proofs.  Ever.  They also have one hell of a lot of terminology, but don't have names for "whole numbers" versus "mixed numbers" versus "improper fractions," because those aren't important terms to anyone.
Ugh, yes. I can personally vouch for how terrible mathematics is in schools. I FAILED early math classes because I couldn't memorize the tables and formulas I was supposed to. The only thing that finally got me to do well in a math class, and ENJOY it, was one teacher who did exactly what he proposes. It was a private school, with it's own curriculum(closed down now...) and her math class involved her giving us interesting problems and just having the class go at it with no help but the occasional nudge in the right direction.
By gods yes! Why hasn't this been publicized thoroughly and spread to all offending parties?

I walk up to Xavius after hearing about the last matches, and tell him; "good luck" before vanishing into the crowd.
