How does everyone feel about vehicles? With a decent party size you'll need probably more then one or an RV. You can totally be heroic in an RV, right? >.>


Vehicle Combat, is something as a GM, I want to stay away from from, as I find it to be one of the weakest aspect of the d20 system.

It doesn't always happen, and for myself it may be happening when I am on the forum browsing.

Yeah, I think most of the raeg is because it's kind of like going to Disney World and finding out the only entrance is a tunnel and your car is too big.  You came for something awesome and find yourself being shafted over something that seems trivial.

This pegs me exactly, though the reason to why I can't play is due to owning a lovely Mac. Although I'm not being all ragey.

This games looks absolutely fucking wonderful. I love 4x games, and particularly SciFi ones. I was mostly disappointed by MOO3, even with the various fan made patches to address its various issues.

I've been reading about this game for hours, and my computer is incapable of of running it.

Though buying games or reading about games I can't run is old hat for me. I have space ace, syndicate, fallout, wasteland, jungle jill, so on, that I can't run. (though dosbox does let me from time to time for some of them.)

I believe there a value for the creature raw called Litter or Litter size, if you change that number to zero, they won't breed.

I would assume so. I've seen all manner of other non-clothed things catch on fire. :)

And yes, the HFS waits for the end. It'd be wrong to take that away from everyone. I do know what's in there though, and it will be challenging.

Are you going to record it?

I bet if you let food, water and Morul locked outside the fort and let it run overnight he'd be done.

I think Morul needs to be micro mange in combat to survive though.

Nice, especially since Fallout's perk system was pretty much 3E's feats (not that one borrowed from the other, they're just very similar) it should be very easy to translate them.

Why not just use the SPECIAL system? It's pretty easy, you just need the numbers on range, light level, and equipment.

Because the SPECIAL system, is a bastardized version of GURPS, if you're going to use a bastard system, may as well use the system proper.
 
I am not a big fan of roll under systems, as most of them are poo, and I don't like the feel they give in general. GURPS however, along with BESM 2e, are the only two systems that do it well.

The SPECIAL system, is a bit to light for my needs, requiring more work to get the characters I want, and more cheating to get the creatures I need. (This is in due to its lightness and my unfamiliarity with it.)

Its also a new system for me, and from my experience for forum games, it best to run systems you know pretty well, to help adjust for the inadequacies of the medium and limit their impact on game play.


Without relieving a lot about the plot the Enclave, or Super Mutants won't be the main antagonists. To keep in spirit with the game, I won't be dictating the moral compass  of the player group, because of this and the nature of the universe it'll have the 'Mature Flag', and a needed declaration of 18 hood to play.

It won't be taking place in either two parts of the country in the three previous games nor New Vegas. After just rereading The Postman, probably Utah area with probably some peeps and locals from it, with the fallout twist.

I also run one or two minigames, such as spot the pun, or spot the reference with the reward generally being an additional Action Point.

I'll be running a fallout game on rpol.net using d20 modern soonish.

It'll have the zany, plain weird special encounters of old, along with incorporating a majority of the perks from the three games as bonus feats or talent trees. (Depends on the perk.)

With an emphasis on the odd dark humor, and resource mgm. (If the players find it fun, depends on where the games goes.)

...Not yet.

To my knowledge you can't make a magma safe wheel, as it has to be made out of wood.

Well, I recently changed my fortress designed. I am doing a fast expendable work house fortress, to house the crew for the main fortress I take my design building.

Before, it always became such an ugly mess, and I came to the conclusion that I cant make an organic grown fortress look pretty. I can make a fortress designed for 200 dorfs and make that look good.

Although now with that design change, all my fortresses carry similar elements.

I always place the graveyard on the bottom level, and I always have a large two z level cistern, that supply water to my network of wells that supply water through fortress, on every level, and more common in housing area.  That sits on the bottom.

If I have magma, I make a smoothed magmaduct with bauxite grate stop gaps on the lowest z level I can safely mine into, and pump it to my magma work shop, powered by underground windmills. (I think of it as air pressure differential moving a collection of turbines in a the shaft.)

My rooms are always grouped together, with nobels getting their own floor, the king being the exception. They're near their thorn. The mayor has an apartment with office, dining room, and bedroom as one duplex.

The military is always in one large central barracks, with the captain of the guard (if I appoint), having a well to do office, rivaling the mayors. They have an independent route to the outside world.
