It's pretty poor vs mechtoids, you can get lucky and maybe incapacitate them but it's rare, on raiders though you can incapacitate lots of them. Best way to use it is to hide in a room with a strong door and wait for the raiders to come a knocking and get stacked up and then go boom!

Yea, but setting up a proper kill area with supporting turret and wall of colonist with sandbag protection is pretty hard for the ai to tackle.

Until they can bring in rockets.

So, does anyone else think that the Doomsday Rocket is a just a load of crap?

Maybe you're just not suppose to use it against mechaniods. But I dont see why you would ever use it against people.

A Dwarf Fortress with a good UI.

Maybe 2050? With luck?

I'm not sure what else could really be done with it, if you're keeping to the constraint of a keyboard driven interface. Its a pretty dense game. It just could use polish, but the UI isn't even 'done' yet.

I have got an idea ......

If possible, Ufnv, when you update those races in your game, please consider extending the number of races into 12 ...... Why can't have 12 zodiac races fighting each other for fun?  In previous space strategy games, I have never seen anyone ever incorporating the "12 zodiacs".  That might make this game even more attractive and popular (I myself, is a Leo, and I have been dreaming of conquering the whole universe under the banner of that wild kitty, though my kids firmly disagree --- "Why you? Why can't be us, Aries or  Gemini?" :D)
What?

The one that doesn't have conduits probably doesnt suffer from short circuits.  If you press the 'i', you can find a flammability rating for that materiel.

But they are

"Introversion decided, nevertheless, to set their game in a nation modeled after the U.S."

The idea of the game came from Chris touring Alcatraz here in the US...and the game is focused on a lot of the US prison system issues
You haven't seen Introversion rebuttal video about that article then. That quote is an assumption.

Is there anything you can do about infections? Besides amputations?

I hope they add corruption at some point; after all that is how a lot of stuff gets smuggled into prisons. Likewise, there should be a possibility of guards getting abusive and leaving it up to you how to handle it. That is another major problem in US prisons/jails according to FBI investigations.
But they aren't trying to model US prisons.

So, I hate the hunting decision making system. It seems to be based on the order they were selected. Which, I guess in most cases, its fine. But when you're trying to stave off cannibalism in the first winter, them going hells half acre for that squirrel, when there a squirrel right next to them, just boggles and frustrate.

So I propose a new hunting decision making system.

Make each of the Hunted Flag creatures have a weighted number. Go after the lowest number first. Each distance at the selection is +1 and then subtract meat value.  If there a tie, then meat value matter more, if there a tie for that, then distance.

Maybe make the meat value of the creature matter more.

So it should have a preference for going after bigger animals that are further away, but everything being equal, goes after the closet meats.

I dont think negative values would matter much.

General Discussion / Re: Religion Questions Thread
« on: December 21, 2014, 05:29:48 pm »
Why can't we just say that God controls biology and therefore anything produced by biological processes was made by God?

...

Why doesn't religion ever bring humanity forward?
Why can't religion, generally, a profession of truth, ever invent the car, or find reliable means to cure the sick?
What good is there being a God, if it just means hovel in mud is good enough?
This isn't really appropriate for the purposes of this thread.
How is it not? Its a question of purpose and function. What does it matter of religion, if what makes humanity, better and strives for the better isn't religion? Look at all dat, metalurgy that religion didnt have anything to do with it. What about that internet, that religion didnt do anything with. Where is it in any religious text if P equals nP?

These great texts, these great tomes of truth of what value?

Oh, great, some lady got turned into a pillar of salt. That'll solve the problem of how to preserve meat for the winter.

What about morality then?

Oh yea, well.. yea morality from ancient text, is kinda of horrible isnt?

There are too many different Pokemon and of too many different shapes and sizes to properly model all of them in good quality.

You could always just use a subset, assuming that the game wouldn't be so focused on the "Catch em all" thing. Quality over quantity, and all that.

Exactly, you could build up to the full roster. Just start with Pokemon Classic. Just the original 151.
