Yeah, the tower's pretty nice, overall.

Utilities and 3rd Party Applications / Re: DFHack 0.47.04-r1

Regarding stonesense.. Is the expectation that it's currently supposed to be working, in -r1?  Or is that a future revision goal?
I've tried a default/brand-new install of both 0.47.04 + dfhack 0.47.04-r1, and attempting to launch stonesense crashes df and dfhack.
There's a few exceptions/errors thrown, but if they're all known, I won't bother pursuing it..

last lines of stonesense.log (with [VERBOSE_LOGGING:YES]):
Reading xml stonesense\items\greiger items\Grei_items.xml...
New image: stonesense\items\greiger items\Grei_items.png

last lines of stderr.log:
Reading xml stonesense\buildings\Shop.xml...
stonesense\buildings\Shop.xml: <building

possibly relevant errors in stderr.log:(?)
libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile
libpng warning: iCCP: cHRM chunk does not match sRGB

(many of each)

There's fixes made in stonesense that aren't in R1 currently.

Yeah, I've had my screen replaced before. It was better than getting a new phone, but not by much. The price of the new screen was like a third the price of the phone.

But it does, as you say, aid communication, if you do, in fact, have a word for where you fall.

Me saying "I'm a lesbian" pretty well communicates what I want it to, and isn't unnecessarily putting labels onto things.

Why does DF tend to run better on Intel processors compared to their AMD equivalents? I read this review of the Ryzen 3 3300X and 3100, and it shows that DF generates worlds faster on an i7-7700K (3 years older than the Ryzens). (Here's the link to that section of the review, if you're interested). To me, it's a bit strange, given that the Ryzens tend to be on par with (or in some cases, outperform) the Intel chip being compared (the aforementioned i7-7700K), at least in the review I read.

Why is this the case? Is it just down to single-threaded performance or having less cache, or is it more nuanced than that?

AMD tend to go for many weaker cores, while Intel go for fewer stronger cores.

DF mainly cares about single core performance, so by and large, it's better in Intel.

You say you are a mans

That's literally a label.

Yeah, there was a guy named Japa. I killed and replaced him. Having people know that name doesn't bother me because it's not mine.

And yeah, barring genetic testing which I haven't done, a good assumption is that I have a Y chromosome.

Thankfully for everybody, I think, nobody carries around a genetic sequencer with them to check if somebody is a "man" or a "woman", because that would be stupid.

I just don't understand why people are so quick to assign themselves specific labels rather than just, y'know, being themselves.
I'm a fairly "girly" dude, myself. I enjoy poetry, I (used to) take meticulous care of my hair and general appearance, I appreciate the occasional sappy romance and I will happily spend hours cooing over an adorable cat or other little critter. That doesn't make me any less of a man. Oh, you think it does, cunno? Fight me then!

Doesn't really matter what gender you were born as, you're allowed to just be yourself.
Sexual orientation is obviously a separate issue from "gender identity" or whatever y'all are calling it these days.
Interests and gender are totally different things, though.
Like, there's a difference between an effeminate man and a woman, same like there's a difference between a butch woman and a man.
Also, labels are useful. They're how we describe things. Without labels, language just plain doesn't exist.
I describe myself as a woman, because that's what I am, some birth defects not withstanding.
Knowing a label to call yourself is comforting. It says "There are enough other people that feel the same way as me that there's a name for it."
Im an atheist. That's a label. I'm a dwarf fortress player. That's also a, label. Both are useful and descriptive.
Personally, I have very little of any feminine interests. That doesn't make me feel like any less of a woman though.
There are some surgeries that I want to get that no man would ever possibly want, so that's a, good indicator too, though in all fairness, is not actually a requirement at all.

Yeah, for me it's weird. How I feel about the whole deal tends to vary.

Most of the times it's just potato, but sometimes I feel like the baddest bitch, and sometimes I feel like a pretty cool dude, and hell if I know why.

Took me years to realize my gender wasn't what I thought it was, and I'm still figuring it out.

What I'm very sure about is my body, and how I'd prefer it to be shaped.
