Anyone else create a Bay12 group yet, or should I?
...Blaster Master for the NES. That one is fun.
NOICE! Am I the only one here lacking the HBO needed to watch it? Rrrrr... Basic cable.
I should probably read the books, first, though; have to wait for the end of the semester. The Alien Vs Predator remake is on sale for $4.99, along with all of the DLC at another $3.74. I liked the older ones enough to give this a try, although paying for map packs bugs the heck out of me.

I haven't played it in months, but last I checked the online community wasn't exactly thriving.
If you're interested, I'd say the singleplayer content is worth $4.99. Probably not worth too much more than $4.99, though. And I would not recommend the DLC, unless you really enjoy the MP. (Remember, there's nothing saying you have to purchase the DLC at the same time; the deal is valid through Thursday, so you can purchase the main game first!)
Quite pleased? Where is the antialiasing? This looks pretty bad :x
Maybe it's just me, but I've not been impressed by one Aliased game yet. It makes it all blurry in practically every game I've ever played. Not worth the FPS hit if you ask me.
Makes me wonder how the game handles win conditions. If you killed your opponent's last unit with an unstable unit, would you still win? Sounds like the sort of thing that'd get in for the release and then get patched out...
I believe that the win condition is when you wipe all of your opponent's units at any point on the timeline...I suspect that prevents the situation you mention.
I've had my eye on this game a while...seems to have enormous potential, but I'm waiting to see if they polish it up some more.

You lose when your base and units get destroyed at any point in time and you cannot prevent it. Maybe you send all your units to the enemy base and they get destroyed and then the enemy attacks your base and it gets destroyed. If you can cancel the order that sends your units to the enemy base you can prevent yourself from losing.

I already played the multiplayer demo, and it didn't do much for me.
I've found a fix for the problem you're talking about for Age of Empires 2, Starcraft, and I think Fallout 1.
The solution here is to get the resolution patch and apply it. You don't need to mess around with virtual machines or anything else.
